Like many others, my HER2 status has been wrongly changed from HER2- to HER2+ all by itself. It happened sometime this week. Newbies might be confused why so many people are HER2+ but don't have treatment listed for HER2. What a terrible mess this informative site has become. Now it has disinformation on it. And that's not good in the cancer world. Very sad and just plain wrong.
-
I guess I'm not triple negative any more.
Switched to HER2+
ETA that I just went through the long process of doing my profile info again and saved the HER2- and came back here and it is switched back to +
I am also not showing that mine is Metaplastic which might be useful information to newcomers.
*sigh.
I hate myself for bothering. What an idiot.
-
MinusTwo (note caps!) pointed out that TravelText was fairly pleased with the redesign. I remember seeing that he didn't display his profile, so he would not have noticed the numerous problems with the expanded user profile.
Mods, again the tech team introduced a new problem when trying to fix the HER2+ display with brackets. The brackets are gone, but they switched HER2- to HER2+. They aren't checking their work!!!
-
serenitystat, I hard-coded my profile years ago and it did appear at the end of my posts. Didn't like the space it took up. I see it's recently disappeared. MinusTwo, I really don't mind the new look and I haven't had most of the issues on my three IOS devices using Safari. I still don't like the perpetual logouts and the slow load speeds. I always copied a post before submitting it on the old site, because I hate rewriting them.
I guess my sympathy for the Mods is because I've been in their shoes when I managed websites back in the day. If you get told bs by the site builders, and you pass this on to the client, you get the blame. I learnt to await customer feedback before announcing anything had been fixed for all systems and all browsers. And, I should note, people who took longer to arrive at a bug-free page due to out-of-date systems and browser software.
-
I don’t see your profile. I see them for other people.
-
serenitystat, check my post for: I see it's recently disappeared.“ In fact, it didn’t post for the first time in a while and I altered my text to reflect this. Will have to redo it I guess.
-
TravelText - I paid attention. You used the signature to show your info. This is different than the standard profile settings. Your signature was on display when you posted that you liked the redesign and didn’t have problems. Then it disappeared afterwards. I know when I tried to edit my personal information, the signature box was empty. I was trying to set my location. Upon saving the changes, my signature disappeared (because the signature box wasn’t populated properly).
-
Okay, thanks, I’ll try and rebuild my profile one way or the other
-
Mods, I know someone has mentioned this, but it’s been weeks. Can you read the message below? Really tiny and greyed out is torture. At least make it the same as the posting text box.
-
Mentioned this before. Hmm, on my iPad the Work in Progress box follows me each time I click on a new thread and the page loads but on my MacBook Pro it only shows when I log in.
-
I've mentioned this before, but I don't think this has been acknowledged. On my laptop using Chrome, when I am fullscreen, the layout looks like it has been formatted for a phone, with the messages in a long, thin column on the right hand side. Weirdly, if I shrink the width of the window about 4 inches, the column expands to full-width. This is what it should always do on my laptop. It is very awkward to have to shrink the window to read BCO. I still don't like any of the new changes (truly, none of them), but at least this should be achievable to make it more tolerable.
I have generally been staying logged in recently.

*Another HER2 negative friend and I are both now listed as positive in the diagnosis line when we make a post (I am still listed correctly as negative when I go to my settings). This will not be accurate information for someone who is looking for help from someone with a similar diagnosis.
*I am getting email notices that favorite topics have been updated. In settings, there used to be an choice to turn that option off or on. That option is not listed any more.....although there is one for Private Messages email notifications. I come here almost every day so don't need to see if a favorite topic is updated. It clogs up my email and is something else to delete.
-
SerentitySTAT, yes we are aware of the readability while writing a PM. We have reported that.
Kathindc, we have reported the Work in Progress announcement repetition on iPad.
Ruthbru, the "Remove email notification" option is accessible from the My favorites page. Just click there, identify the thread(s) you wish to no longer receive email notifications from, and click Remove email notification link just under that thread.
All with HER2 status changes -- thank you for alerting us that this fix did not take. We did test the instances that had previously been reported before deploying the fix, but it seems like that fix may have caused others to convert. The tech team is looking into what's going on. Our apologies!

-
And Traveltext, and SerentitySTAT, yes, we are aware of the glitch while editing any part of the "Personal Information" part of profile information, the hardcopy signature line disappears. This has been reported and is being worked on.
Thank you.
-
Well, I guess the Chrome layout isn't considered a glitch; it's just the new normal.
-
debbew, apologies, we weren't trying to ignore you. We are trying to verify what you're seeing on our end. Can you send us a screenshot please?

There was another glitch in my diagnosis information (in addition to the HER2 status which is still not correct) but this has since corrected itself without me doing anything. My mastectomy was on 11/27/06, my dh's birthday. At some point it was changed to 11/26/06, which was a Sunday. Now it's back to 11/27/06, yea!
Also, my start date for chemotherapy changed by itself. It has now corrected itself, again without me doing anything. It was changed to 1/1/07 and now it's back to the correct date of 1/2/07. I mean, no one has chemotherapy on New Year's Day bc it's a holiday!
I realize that one day difference is no big deal but it was changed without my knowledge. Wonder if this has happened to others. What a terrible mess this has become. I stay bc I have learned so much from these intelligent women. Most I will never meet in person but I have formed friendships with them. I have been fortunate to meet a few and actually go on fantastic trips with them! What a blessing all the ladies here have become in my life. And that, Dear Mods and BCO, is the only reason I stay here.
-
SPOKE TOO SOON. The wrong surgery and chemo start dates are listed again.
They were right, then wrong, then right, then wrong.
-
wonderland - They’re playing around with time zones. It’s annoying that they don’t use a development environment.
I’m scared for what will happen when they switch to a new platform. 😳😬
-
My HER2 status is wrong now. I really dislike having inaccurate information associated with my profile. I also hope the redesign in work removes the asymmetrical blob cropping the photos on the main welcome page. Every time I see them, I think “tumor.” We are about so much more than tumors. Even US health insurance allows restoration for symmetry. Can we have that here too?
-
Debbew, not sure why you can't post a screenshot here -- can you try to PM us?
Wonderland, there was a fix deployed with the birthdate calendar date picker which had been choosing the day prior instead of the intended day, which we think possibly translated to the treatment dates. But it sounds like that fix may have regressed. We have reported to the tech team and await their response.
We are doing everything possible to get your diagnostic and treatment information to appear correctly. Our apologies again.
-
Mods- Hate to be snarky here, but... is the "tech team" a group of part-timers or volunteers versus full-time staff??? This mess has been going on for how many days? Over a month? And I really see no real fixes. Yes, I am one of the few that can log on and post, but there are A LOT of other issues that never seem to get fixed. My profile is wwaayy messed up. When can the "tech team" get some work done? When is this site going to work correctly??????????????
-
Mods, you still have a time zone issue. I don’t have time to document this.
-
SerenitySTAT, when you do have time, could you give us a little more detail so we can identify the problem you're seeing? Thanks.
-
Mods, I know you're not technical, but neither is your tech team. They can use this topic to check. Note 3-hr difference for the same post. Sometimes there’s no difference. Sometimes there’s an hour difference.
https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/44/topics/882513
-
OK thank you Serenity, those details and screenshots are helpful. Will report.
-
Mods, In my experience, setting the current datetime and time zone should have one source. Birthdates and treatment dates should be date fields, not datetime. Simple things like this prevent hundreds of hours of work.
-
I think screwing up the forums, and then expecting members to do the extra work to document all the problems, is pretty disrespectful to the members.
And of course I had to log in AGAIN.
-
Unfortunately, Alice, we too are human and can only track so many errors. And, everyone's experience is a little different depending on their device, operating system, the age of their device or operating system, browser and version, and many, many other factors. So we do need everyone's help identifying as many issues as possible.
If you do not wish to help, that is your prerogative and we understand.
Thank you for alerting us you're still having log in issues. We will alert the team.
