That might be too big. I find taking a screen grab of a jpeg works when I have one too large. The quality isn't as sharp but not that bad and is a much smaller file.

goldie - Don’t think you were hijacking the thread at all. Your file size may be the issue, and wrenn’s workaround of using a screenshot seems the quickest solution. The cat picture earlier is under 1 MB and looks good.

Ok, that was off of my computer, 60 kb. So, as they say "size matters"!

    Thank you ladies!

    Dear members,

Here are some general tips for posting photos:

How do I add an image to my message?

One way to add an image to a topic or a post is to click the image icon in the post/topic toolbar. A pop-up box will appear where you can either:

    • drag and drop an image from an open file folder from your computer
    • load from a file folder on your computer by clicking on the "Browse" button and finding the photo on your computer

Before adding your image, you should decrease the picture size to under 800 pixels wide (about 400px is often better), as it will load faster for others and not need resizing.

You may also post an image by using a photo website. Each of these sites explains how to share your images; there should be an option to share your photo, and then an option for an embed code. Copy the embed code and paste the code in your text box. Once you hit submit, the photo should appear.

To resize a photo, click once in the photo then grab the bottom right corner black square and drag that to the size you want. However, you cannot crop an image – that needs to be done before inserting.

To edit the photo, you click inside the photo, on the EDIT button. Here you can give the photo a title, insert a link to a website (that can open a new tab), and choose to have the image on the right, center, or left side.

We are not sure that this provides further information as you all have been helping one another with this question prior to our posting here.

Mods, did you notice cardplayer’s post above? The link to report glitches in the announcement at the top of the community pages now leads to a “404 file not found” page. Want to make sure this important “glitch” was not missed in this thread since the adminrequested way of reporting glitches is now broken! (I guess that’s one way to reduce the number of complaints….)

The information displayed in my preview and when I post in a topic are similar, but different. Should they be the same?

This morning I tried clicking on the My Favorites link and it worked. First time since the beginning of March.

But then I just now came back to the forum and am getting the application error page when I clicked on the link.

Mods, thanks for fixing the link to the reporting and release notes page. I see that the release notes for April 8 claim "Style formatting adjustments to improve readability and consistency."

Would you be able to shed any light on what these style formatting adjustments were? To be honest, it all still looks the same to me..... super tiny text on a bright white background with a ridiculous amount of dead space.

Wow! I took almost 2 weeks off from the discussion threads and come back to over 16 pages of new "Tech glitches" posts only to see NOTHING has improved! The pages I've accessed so far seem to load a tiny bit faster, but the same errors and problems are being reported and the horrible stark white pages with gray, tiny print continues. How is it even possible the "tech team" has done so little in 42 DAYS! Little did we suspect when this fiasco was launched prematurely on March 1, we would still be in this nonworking mess in mid-April!

To now announce you're replatforming, and the mods to say over a week ago that they would have an update which doesn't seem to have happened, makes me ask why would we trust anything we're told here? Just the thought that you have allowed the errors to continue in members diagnoses lines causing them great distress--and you think we would upload our medical records?

Again, I call for Hope Wohl, CEO, and Jane Hollingsworth, BCO Board Chair to acknowledge this mess, take responsibility, and get this fixed now. This major disaster would never have been allowed in any business or organization and expect to remain in business.

The situation continues to sadden me. I go back to the fact that we members were not even given any kind of advance notice that there would be a change in the forum format. It seems like an egregious oversight and one I’m having a hard time getting past. We all just woke up one morning to find our support system had been yanked out from under us with no fair warning.

I post a lot less. The technical frustrations keep me away as well as the dull appearance of the forum. In today’s ultra visual world, why go colorless? Since the site came back up from the unintended blackout, I’ve been posting on this glitches thread on Mondays only to give things a week at a time for improvements. I’ve lived with metastatic breast cancer 11+ years and have dealt with and continue to deal with struggles on many fronts as you can imagine. I didn’t need another thing to cause confusion and disappointment.

I have had a cyber relationship with the Mods since 2011, thanking them numerous times over the years for their helpful ways. But, in a relationship, when there are problems, they need discussed. You can’t sweep this under the rug. So I try to be understanding yet I have feelings, too.

And if there was that beta testing, why wasn’t someone like me asked to be a part of it? After all these years and all these threads I’ve started and all the posts I’ve contributed, and years of living with bc, why was the experience of me or other members who’ve been around a long time not considered something to be tapped into?

I’ll leave it here for this week.

Part way through catching up on "My Favorites" the discussion threads suddenly logged me out. I had to log back in as I've seen others have already noted. I got back in to this thread again to post how much I dislike the new graphics. Every time we log out we have to look at the "Fresh, new look" ad which, of course, seems like a joke since we know it's not working, but, after repeatedly seeing that graphic, I finally figured out what it looks like to me--a catfish head--two eyes with whiskers!! Definitely need new "newer" graphics and darker, larger print. I think I'll only post in "Bold" from now on since it's easier to read.

I like the readability! A little slower than before but navigatability is easy. Most of all, I miss all the ladies who left with the format change. It was a great group of well-informed ladies and the 'experience-level' is now severely lacking.

It has been about a month since I went on this site and I see only slight improvement. Still slow to load, etc I used to check on this site regularly but it is just too frustrating now. Poor design and not worth spending the time I used to on it. I bet many people have moved on and come back only once in awhile. Sad. And....four times.....four times I have completed my profile (again) , saved it and then the most recent time I signed on it is still not completed. Really????

Came on this evening and discovered every time you switch threads the “Work in Progress” message comes up. Duh!!! It’s been a work in progress for the past month and a half with little to no progress. So more clicking to get to were we want to go. Really Mods. This is the best this company can do for BCO

Got on the threads this evening and every thread comes up with a “Work in Progress” notice that you have to click out of in order to view the thread. Really! Duh, it’s been a work in progress for the last month and a half. Mods, is this the best the tech team can do?Why was this necessary? Such a waste a time. We already know this when we log in. BCO seems hell bent on getting rid of their long time members.

Tried to log in late last night only to find BCO discussion boards down again. Today I find no explanation for these additional lost hours of access and certainly no improvement in function.

Respect your members here and give us an explanation, an apology, and get this site fixed!!!!!!!

So happy to find the glitch with logging in has resolved on my iPad. It was frustrating to have to keep logging in every time I tried to access the site. Now I seem to be staying logged in. 👍🏻

I still have to log in every damn time. Eleven steps. Sometimes I look at the log in button and say "Nah, not worth it." Mods, is that what BCO wants?

I had a hell of a time finding this thread. I scrolled through five or six pages and didn't see it. I finally went back to page one and there it was. I can't tell if it's the latest now you see it, now you don't crap from the site, my fading eyesight, or BCO USING A FONT THAT'S SMALLER THAN THE TINIEST ACADEMIC FOOTNOTES!!!

    User friendly my ass.

Mods, can you relay to the BCO management that their email communication isn’t helping this situation?

Here’s the start of the “April Update” that I received:

“The Breastcancer.org redesign: delivering on our mission to help you navigate breast cancer

On Breastcancer.org, you'll find the same reliable information and trusted resources you've come to expect from us, with key updates across our content to make your experience better. In the coming months, we'll also be updating and improving the community discussion boards. We can't wait to share more with you soon.

Is there no understanding of how insensitive this messaging is, given the continuing issues and slow performance? I’m trying to be patient but I don’t understand why they would send this communication that sounds like everything is peachy and that they are excited for “improvements” to the community discussion boards

I think everyone has to lower their expectations and accept that this is the new site. If the "community" (check the dictionary BCO) was a priority it would be working as well as the rest of the site where the priority lies. That was their intention until we revolted. They were advertising their new project on Twitter and Facebook luring in newcomers to their new project. That is all going as planned. They underestimated the dedication and intelligence of the members of the "community".

Time to move away. My attachment was to the members but that population has diminished and I am very sad but I do accept it and am spending my time doing other things and periodically come by to see how the remaining few are doing when I feel patient enough to navigate through the silliness BCO created.

    Hi all,

This is a note to let you know the log in/log out issues should now be resolved -- including ensuring when you log out, you are indeed logged out, and not having to log in repeatedly during your session. We've also removed the Reply Box at the bottom of threads when you are not logged in, so that you know prior to typing a response that you must log in first. Also, when you click Reply to this Post while logged out, then log in, you'll be taken back to the thread you wished to comment on. Please let us know if these issues are still persisting for you.

In addition, we've deployed a fix to Add a Diagnosis, so that once you work through the Add a Diagnosis flow, your diagnosis will be saved and added to your Profile. Again, please let us know if any issues still persist with this.

Please note we are still working on the issues with the Complete Your Profile widget, and we are aware that working through that flow does not save as intended.

Please stay tuned for more fixes and an update to the Release Notes page by end of day tomorrow.

Thank you for your continued help in logging issues and sharing concerns. We do hear you and we are noting your frustrations.
