Deep inside, our integrity sings to us whether we are listening or not. It is a note that only we can hear. Eventually, when life makes us ready to listen, it will help us to find our way home.

I'm not at all knocking Pres. Biden as president, but seeing former Pres. Obama back at the White House today giving a speech on the ACA, just brought back so much recall of 8 great yrs. with these two men who so complimented one another. Hard not to feel nostalgia. Pres. Biden is on his way to really enhancing the ACA and it's perfect that he chose former Pres. Obama to help he and V.P. Harris.
On another note : I had to go to the local hospital to have a test this a.m. My SIL and Dh were in the waiting room with some other gentlemen. Well, needless to say it wasn't all that pleasant. They sounded like Q-a-nons. They let my family know that within a couple of weeks Trump would be back in the WH. Then went on and on about the stolen election and other stupid stories with no basis. Son-In-Law and Dh went over to another part of the room to ease out of the current conversation. Non-believers can only listen to lunatics a short period of time and just that one "return to White House" was enough for them.
I'm wondering how many times can you extend a date???? I mean it seems I've been hearing the RETURN for some time now. Silly me though -- I keep wondering why some of them don't figure out that the date extensions are ad infinitum. When ( if ever ) do you HAVE to see the truth and stop believing. Or --maybe they just move on to the next thing and pretend no one has noticed they were totally wrong. Anyway, my family just couldn't take crazy that early in the morning. Completely un-palatable.

Yes I do wonder --- do they really believe this nutty stuff or are they just being provocative in hopes of kissing the ring and keeping their seats. Weren't these people considered at least rational at one time or other and why is it so easy for them to give up that designation. Bordering on insanity is not something I'd want on my resume.

Study found that Fox viewers transformed after watching CNN for 30 days

I never really watch Fox, but when something particularly bad comes across, the left lets us know. He should be near the top of the DEPLORABLE list because I'm fairly sure he knows better -- but he is from the far right and he's not going to give anyone the satisfaction of having him say so in any way.

Cardreader, I read that piece some time right before you posted. I do think it could be quite true. Not only in the fact that many people are pulling away as much as they can (without seeming to) from orange Loon. Only the truly hardcore -- like say the "My Pillow guy",just won't even consider other possibilities. Others who have a few un-twisted as yet brain cells can see a lot of the writing on the wall. They GET that the government doesn't take a bona fide election win from one person and re-install the loser of said election. So, I am hoping that in time, but I do thin these same people while they might change their minds on the Loon and some of the strong - right wing maneuvers people like Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz and others attempt -- they will stay Reps. I just hope they outnumber the extremeists of the party -- and actually that most of the real extrremeists get dumped. They are dangerous to us.

I love it, Ruth.

Unhinged interview. SNL won’t need to change any content to satirize. -
If it can be verified, we don't need faith. . . . Faith is for that which lies on the other side of reason. Faith is what makes life bearable, with all its tragedies and ambiguities and sudden, startling joys. -Madeleine L'Engle

I could not get into the Wash. Post link, but I do know when enough pressure comes the orange Loon will find a 'story' to justify what he is doing or what he now will say he has done. He has enormous pressures at the moment -- so he will try to get himself any break he can. I am surprised that it took this much to get to him. He is casual about the truth -- it is only what he perceives at any given moment -- so easy to take liberties with the truth and he has done it so long -- it is just his normal behavior.
Some try to emulate -- like T. Cotton saying Judge Jackson would have given the Nazi's a break at Nuremburg. How can you look over the rim of that SLIME pit. I do believe at some point the 'overwhelming' amt. of lies, conspiracies, and harsh talk will on it's own with no other help needed -- start to cancel these people. Hopefully at that point when they have to run for their seat again -- it will just go pouf and we can be done with them.

illinoislady - besides blaming Pelosi for the riot and that he wanted to March to the capital, but the “secret service said he couldn’t go”, there’s this quote -
"The crowd was far bigger than I even thought. I believe it was the largest crowd I've ever spoken to. I don't know what that means, but you see very few pictures. They don't want to show pictures, the fake news doesn't want to show pictures," he said. "But this was a tremendous crowd."
I keep hoping when we’ll go back to normal. President Obama, Stacey Abrams and others need tostart to excite younger voters.
-
The Loon is most definitely in La-La Land, cardplayer. Well, not surprised at his LARGE crowd. He started out with one on Inauguration Day so nothing has changed much. So, the Loon is being His normal -- lying to enhance what is not really there and what he lacks in life. He is in his altered reality state. If it is not your idea of your own perfection, enhance it til' it is.
Personification of lack of moral/ethical strength and not one iota of conscience. If your seeing something I think is wrong -- then its fake news, especially if it is about me or politics.
I have read any number of times ( mainly of course in left leaning materials ) that his handlers ( the Loon's ) try to be careful where and when they let him out but I think he still has a number of enablers and so some control slips by them. Then he geta an interview with Fox/Brett Baier or whomever currently thinks they can control the conversation.
Love that the SS stopped the Loon from the March. Who could argue with that?? I will admit that I had visions of some of the SS people unable to jump as quick as they could have -- and some sort of fatal or nearly fatal harm coming to the deserving Loon. They all did their jobs even though thanks to their charge/employer so many of them had to experience covid. The Loon is/was at that time, in that way a fortunate man -- but karma comes -- and he is one of the most deserving, despicable, almost not human beings I know. Of course -- hoping the karma comes down heavy while he still has some mind left. I want him to have as much feeling as all of us did through his destructive four yrs. of hate, envy, greed and vindictiviness.

I hate hearing this. I think overall ( not sure of everything though ) N. Pelosi has tended to use a mask a great deal of the time. Were I in Washington and in the WH, and surrounds -- I'd likely keep on wearing a mask no matter what the rest were doing. Hard to say how many Reps. did/have gone w/o the requisite number of shots. I think most would do it if not for themselves and colleagues, for close relatives and friends.

Pelosi has tested positive for COVID

against COVID and received a booster shot. She's the highest-profile
U.S. official to contract the virus since former President Donald
Trump.

It is evident that the issue is still ( in my book ) a little close for comfort no matter how many rules/mandates they are willing to change or do away with. I do hope Nancy does fine, as many others have and glad she will be able to easily get everything she may need in her care. -
Was it on here that I saw the meme about raising your daughters like Ivanka and Tiffany? I do not think that Tiffany got half of what Ivanka has ever gotten and really is mistreated by her father. It's sort of like being the skeleton in the closet that is brought out for display whenever you wish to appear as a benevolent patriarch. I think Tiffany has tried very hard to ingratiate herself within the family's inner circle but they keep her on the perimeter. While I do feel sorry for her, it is not enough to overlook the disasters her sperm donor father has wreaked on our democracy. Being a lawyer brought her some cachet but I am not sure she is working, what type of law she studied or plans on practice but wonder what future plans she has. This has been a very long engagement for someone who seems not to have any obstacles to having a wedding. Perhaps daddy dearest needs to rip off some more donors before he can foot the cost of a wedding? She'd be better off just eloping.

illinoislady - that's a shame about Speaker Pelosi and others coming down with Covid. I was just reading an article about how the US hasn't had the high numbers of Covid like Europe and China has had recently. I'm about 80 miles west of DC in an area where masks are only seen in medical facilities. I wear mine other places and have scheduled to get my 2nd booster.
-
I still wear a mask for the few places I go. I consider myself still in recovery mode and just feel a bit safer. We are in an area that has a sparser population, but while the county numbers go down, there still are some cases. I'm not sure when and if I'll really feel safe enough to go without a mask. I do worry about the fact that my daughter works in a convenience store but it is difficult to remove yourself from all risks.
-
I had the feeling -- and it was only that, that Tiffany whether by her personal choice or her mother's, wished to keep some distance from 'ahem' her sperm donor. I don't know where I got that idea. I do know I never saw any of the sort of racy pictures of her that turned up from her step-sister and the Loon together. Ivanka was a young teenager in some of those and you -- they just had a look.
I'm also not sure when Tiffany did turn up. Was it right before or right after Loon lost the election and began looking for other ways to remain at the W. House. She and her betrothed were in pictures at about that time. Loon was happy as you say to have her at that time, but frankly I think fatherhood to him resembles to me how he seems to feel about animals. Better at a distance. He uses all of his offspring -- one way or the other, and they do go along because it has padded their personal nests. Imagining how he REALLY feels about them like I do -- I'd love to know if they have hidden feelings ( thinking un-pleasant at this point ) about him. As most here would, I am grateful for my parents and thought the world of them -- yet in people like the Trumps/Kushners, etc, it is hard to imagine normal feelings. Very few if any seem normal to me.

JMO, but Amy C. Barrrett, along with Brett Kavanaugh should have never got within shouting distance of the Supreme Court. One of the things I'll never forgive Moscow Mitch for by the way. Still amazes me that for the most part the Democrats go by the book on things so to speak while the Reps. have not one iota of a conscience showing up while they take the the low road everywhere. Foisting people like Barett and a rapist on us in the court.

Yea, the beautiful deed is done -- we now have Justice Jackson.
The Senate confirmed Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court Thursday, making her the first Black female justice.
In a 53-47 vote, Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Mitt Romney of Utah joined all 50 members of the Democratic caucus in support of Jackson. She is slated to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer.
Jackson is currently a judge on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.
