Ok I got my blood test results back and I am normal. So I am now joining the ranks of the dieters. My daughter is getting married this Aug and I want to be at least 20 pounds lighter ok I will settle for 10.
So I started my diet today not tomorrow. However yesterday I celebrated my blood tests results with a large swirl ice cream cone dipped in chocolate from Dairy Queen. I almost felt like a kid again when it started to drip down my hands and get on my shirt what a hoot.
So I am off to the diet a day and exercise a night club.
Hurry up I am on your heals LOL
Mel -
Hey Mel glad to have you on my heals..I have the feeling that you mean business and I need to be pushed...........LOL!! Good luck...Dairy Queen...OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...Having a weak moment......................I am going on line for WW inspriation!!!!!!!!! Diet Divas,
Have a recipe to share, I had this tonight and it was really good. I love mexican and haven't had any since I started my diet. I diverted a little from the recipe (my culinary preparation skills have been hampered by the "mummy" arm aka lymphedema wrap - it's very difficult to prepare food as well as do much of anything else). Anyway, here is the recipe:
Green Chili and Tortilla Casserole* - 1 Serving
Ingredients:
1 flour tortilla (approximately 6 inch diameter)
2 fresh green chili peppers
1/2 bell pepper
1/4 cup low fat or nonfat milk
1 1/2 oz. low fat or nonfat shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp. dried parsley
4 oz. liquid egg whites
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Dice green chili pepper and bell pepper, set aside. Spray a casserole dish with cooking spray. Tear tortilla into bite-sized pieces and spread over the bottom of the casserole. Top with half of the chopped green chili and bell pepper, and half of the cheese. Repeat layering. Combine liquid egg whites, milk and parsley and gently pour over casserole. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, or until knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Instead of the fresh green chile, I used the canned whole roasted chilies (I used 3) and omitted the green pepper (not too fond of green pepper) and instead of the parsley, I used cilantro. I think the recipe intends for the whole tortilla on the bottom, but I put half on the bottom and the other half on the second layer of chili & cheese. Nutritional #'s: 359 Cal., 0 fat cal., 5 g total fat and 2 g saturated fat and 40 g carbs - not Atkins friendly - you could use a low carb tortilla. I topped mine with a little pico de gallo salsa. It comes out of the oven looking like a little souffle.
If you try the recipe, hope you like it as much as I did.
Hugs,
Lois -
Lois you are the women!! Thanks for the recipe..Sounds delicious...Love ..Love...Love...Mexican...I can't wait to try this.............YUM>>YUM{{{...
Rose thanks for the WW link....And yes...I am learing each day about the wiggle room and benefits of the point system!!!!!!!!!!!! To me this is real...I want it all....I refuse to miss one minute of pleasure...........And with the WW plan.......I can have my cake and eat it too....:}....
xoxo,Patti -
Lois, sounds great! I love Mexican too! Patty, I saved all my points for this week end and really ate alot! I had auntie annes pretzel stix, multigrain pancakes and eggs, ice cream. Monday is scale day--- so we will see!

***Hope everyone had a great week end-- the weather here was gorgeous!!! Hugs, Rosebudd.
PS I love the emoticons!!!!!!!! -
Well, I am still not feeling motivated to work out or diet... hubby and I are in the middle of kitchen remodeling, and everything is gone till we get the new coutertops in, no stove, cooktop, or microwave, so we are eating out a lot and this pretty much sums up the only excercise I've been getting, working on my biceps! LOL!
Hilde -
Hey Ladies..I am adding riding to my exercise routine..I have a staionary and thought I would step it a notch and ride on the days that I can't walk..So I am hanging in on WW and will weigh in this week...
Rose I saved my points for the weekend also...Nice to have a reward waiting..Only problem.....I think I might have gone a little over board though!!! Oh well today is another day..
Diane how was your weekend?? You sure had the weather on your side.....Just Beautiful!!! I am having a peppermint patty attack...I guess I will settle for diet jello with cool whip..Rose any ideas??????????????/
Lois get your party hat ready..
Hilde love the buffet!! Yum!! Good luck with the renovations..I went through that last year and then smack in the middle found out that I had BC..It was a little crazy around here to say the least.........I love my new kitchen.......You will be back in yours soon......So until then Bon Appetite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Wished you lived closer ..You could whip our butts in shape with a water aerobics class!!..My big day at the pool looks something like this
...

-
When is Raven's party? Thursday night after she finishes rads? In the Staying Connected room? Please fill me in.
-
Hi Ladies! 3 more rads to go! Will finish up on Thursday.
Patti--I was also in the middle of renovations when I was dx'd. My husband does a lot of the work himself, so it always takes a long time. We had our whole first floor gutted--no kitchen, dining room or living room! It was months before I had a working kitchen--I still haven't unpacked everything. My dining room and living room are still gutted!
Hilde--I got so sick of fast food over the last few months, we practically lived at the food court at the mall!! I hope your renovations go a lot faster and smoother than mine!
Save some points for Thursday night--what's a celebration without some chocolate???
Marsha/Lisa--we could meet in the Staying Connected room--that's a nice idea. What time is good for everyone?
Hope you're all doing well. Have a great evening. -
Hello Ladies - my fellow diet divas!! I have been on vacation for the past 4-5 days and need to catch up on this thread. I just wanted to send a quick hello out to all. Missed ya....talk to you later!
-
Hi Monke, good to hear from you.
Catherine -
Welcome home Diane!! We can's wait to hear about your weekend!!
Hello Catherine how is everything going without pyscho boss?? Come join us here!!
Name the time Raven and we will all be there with bells, whistles and lots of cheers!! Also check here for the grand finale ...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love parties!!xoxo,Patti
-
Is 9:00 p.m. Eastern too late for anybody? If not, we'll plan to meet Thursday night in the Staying Connected room to celebrate Raven's final rads. Patti, you're in charge of the entertainment. I'll bring the cake!
-
Good morning everybody. I have taken a walk for the last 4 days straight!
9:00 p.m. Eastern is good by me, my kids should be in bed by then.
The one and only time I went in the chat rooms I realized there was somebody else using the name Raven--everyone in the room confused me with her. So for this special occassion, I'll drop my alias and use my real name--Eileen.
See you all Thursday night!! -
I can't wait for the party to start!!!
That's my workout night, but I'll stop by before I start my treadmill trek. So for me that would be 6:00 west coast.
Cool
Lois -
Hi ladies--1 more treatment to go--I know I should be feeling happy, but I'm so sad about Ann/Tink--it's just not fair!!
Baked some brownies, going to bring some in to the rad techs tomorrow, but I'll save a few for tomorrow night.
See you all tomorrow--Eileen -
Raven you are so sweet..We will be with you in spirit tomorrow our dear friend...And we will be with you tomorrow night also....Until then big hugs are coming your way along with prayers!!! xoxo,Patti
-
Diane,
Glad you're back and had fun, ate, ate, ate, and shop, shop, shopped. You know shopping can be hard work that could be why you lost those 2 lbs!!! I wore my pedometer one day when I went shopping - it was a quickie - and I walked 2 miles. You'll be surprised how many miles you can log by shopping!
Raven - Brownies must be the celebration food - I took brownies for everyone for my last chemo. My rad tech was off teaching for the day on my last rad, so I had to tell her about the surprise I had for her the "HAPPY FACE" that I drew on my chest. The sub got a kick out of it though. Good luck tomorrow! Happy Dance in the chat room tomorrow night.
Hugs,
Lois -
Hi Gals - missed ya all. Seems like everyone has been getting down with the dieting idea. YOu go ladies.
OK back from vacation and a bit confused....I spent the last 4 days eating & shopping and shopping & eating and when I weighed myself after vacation I lost 2 lbs! I guess the calories in the salad cancelled out the calories in the chocolate mouse cake!!! Ahhhh - if only life were that simple.
I had a wonderful 4 days with my best friend and her husband. He had a very rough year too healthwise so we just celebrated being well!
Raven - just one more day to go...I'll meet you gals in the chat room for the celebration.
Peppermint Patties - hmmmmm -
I am back on the WW wagon this weekend soon as I get my butt to Shop Rite. I bought 2 dresses for my friends wedding in August - it's crunch time ladies, literally. Can you do sit-ups with implants? I look for any excuse not too...lol
Back to work....have a good day ladies.
Diane -
Hey me again - saw that some of you were doing the walk away pounds tapes...I just wanted to give my 2 thumbs up as well. I like them because they have a 1, 2, 3 mile selection with or without weights(your choice) The movements are simple and you don't need a lot of room.
By the way - my walking days of 5:45am have ceased. It's too much before work. I guess I will do the tapes when I get home. -
Wow everyone is doing so good. I still go 6 days a week to Nubodys and am on G.I. Diet but still cheat when i have a need. Most especailly I am feeling better and my skin is glowing. Heres to feeling good. Floss
-
Thank you all for my wonderful party!! That was fun! Thanks Diane, Lois and Marsha for providing the refreshments! I hope we all continue to dance with NED for a very long time!
Patti--we missed you!!
It's off to the ranch tomorrow morning--have a great weekend everybody! -
I am so sorry...I could not log on.I was banging my desk in total frustration!!! LOL!!.Computer problem...I just logged on and you gals were gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so bummed out!!! Congrats Raven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...This is for you Raven!!
Wishing you the best as you move forward!!! xoxoxo,Patti -
Thanks Patti--Love the fireworks!
We should plan another party--maybe to celebrate getting in shape? Give ourselves an incentive. Hope you have a great weekend!
How are you feeling? I hope your dizzyness is going away. One of my sisters is an Audiologist, and she has been seeing a lot of vertigo recently (I had a little touch of it for a week or so), she thinks it's the bad allergy season--or maybe there is an inner ear virus going around. Hope you're feeling better! -
Raven, I am sorry to have missed your party, I was late as usual!!! Hope you had a great day!!!Be happy, dance with NED-- but don't keep him all to yourself-lol!!! Patty, those emoticons are really good where do you get them?? Floss, I'm glad you feel good! Don't forget muscle is heavier than fat so if your working out it may be muscle weight. Lois, the shopping workout is my kind of work out! I did not do so good on the diet this week. Oh, well I will try harder tomorrow!! Hugs to all you divas! Rosebudd
-
Hi Diva's - it was nice to chat with you last night....I enjoyed those Margaritas! Good going Lois 2 lbs! Patti - we missed you!

Divas sorry I missed the party!! Rose and I were making home made chocolate when the conveyer belt broke!! WE ran all the way too the party and you were all gone!!!So we had no choice but to eat all of the chocolate!! LOL!! LOL!! Really I missed you all...We did log on but it was too late!!

Have a good weekend my friends!!
xoxo,Patti
Ladies have a nice weekend...xoxoxo -
Good Morning Diet Divas,
The party was great, I think I might have had too much to drink and eat!!! I was suppose to do the treadmill, but after the party I was a little too tired for walking!!!
Yesterday was my weekly "weigh-in" - I lost 2 lbs! But I'm afraid after last night I might have gained it back (when the girls weren't looking I was eating pretzels and a fun size Milky Way - I was celebrating Raven's graduation!)
Well I hope you all have a great weekend and stick to your diets. I'm going on my 2nd outdoor adventure Sunday and will walk another 3+ miles.
Hugs,
Lois
