Harvey is a therapy dog and I get to enjoy him all the time, but it was extra special that he was able to visit me when I was recently in the hospital.

Nugget is cuddling with me as I cry over the worst news I could ever get. I lost my best friend of 32 years earlier today.

I have had dogs almost all of my life. I lost my last pup two years ago and decided to wait until retirement to get another dog. I retired in a June and found an adorable, funny, one year old rescue from TX right before Halloween. She has been a delight. Still a bit of a puppy but past the most intense puppy stages, she is very lively, loves long walks, and is super snuggly. She was named Pumpkin when I got her and it suits her well. My grandson calls her a chihuala 😂. PS: Yes, that is a pink bc blanket but it was made by some former students of mine so it has sentimental value, otherwise, no pink!

xbrn...Cute as a button (had to look that up as meanings keep evolving) with a perfect name. Do you call be an abbreviated form of Pumpkin or other?
-
I'll call Spookie pupkin.
-
She is such a good girl and not a stereotypical chihuahua in many of her behaviors. She has thus far been called Punky, Punk and my 3 year old granddaughter calls her Pumpy.
-
All cute names, however, I'm partial to Pumpy
-
My hubby and I call Nugget by several names: Nug, Nuggie, Noogie or Bug

Tippy ate up the rest of his treats yesterday. He has not been happy about it. This morning I took a look at recipes, and mixed up grits, boxed beef broth, eggs, pumpkin, applesauce, and coconut oil. I am baking it. He turned up his nose at the raw mixture, but after a lot of sniffing ate one of the first doggie cookies. Honestly, I did not have all of the ingredients for any of the possible recipes. Peanut butter will be on my list for the next such emergency, as well as oatmeal.
I cannot get to an open store today.
-
Well, since my little granddaughter is so stinking’ cute, Pumpy may stick!
I know I can’t be the only one… do your dogs have “voices”? All of our last three dogs had voices that we made up from them. My late Pomeranian and Chi/mim pin mix had very distinct voices. My younger dd and I had them singing songs from Wicked, particularly the duets with Elphaba (Chi/min pin) and Galinda(Pomeranian). Yes, we love Broadway! Anyway, I haven’t found a voice for Pumpkin, yet…

Nugget loves it when I sing Elvis’s songs.
Dog funny a friend sent me

Not about a dog, rather a pair of Florida bald eagles in nest with 2 almost ready to hatch chicks. Enjoy.

where in sw fl is this? We have eagles everywhere. I worry about Spookie looking like an Eagle lunch.

spookiesmom,
Pumpkin is the smallest dog I have ever known. My older dd and family recently moved to Napa, CA. Although it’s less than a two hour drive, it’s quite rural compared to where I live. I was out side with Pumpkin, who was off leash, and I kept a close eye on her. We have some birds of prey who would definitely like to make a meal out of her. Actually, even in San Jose it’s advisable to keep an eye on small dogs 🐕 when they are off leash outside.
