I’m a 33 year old female. I found a barely noticeable (maybe a cm) enlarged lump under my right armpit. No pain or infection associated I have fibrocystic breasts and I can’t notice a change in either breast. Out of worry, ordered a female cancer panel and my CA15-3 was elevated at 27.4 (high reference of 25). I have an mri of my breasts ordered this weekend. I’m terrified. Any similar situations? The waiting period is the next side of hell.

All cancer antigen tests depend on watching for changes - not just one number out of the blue. Glad you're ordered further testing, but I don't think the CA15-3 in itself is cause for alarm. Since an MRI can have lots of false positives, I'm wondering why your doc didn't order a diagnostic mammogram & ultrasound first?

Thank you for the reply! We went with mri hoping for more accurate answers with my dense lumpy tissue. I hadn’t thought about false positives with the mri. Looking forward to any kind of definitive answer soon!
