Just wondering if anyone out there with metastatic Breast cancer is doing well (not necessarily NED ) but living longer then predicted with only alternative care ? and if so , how long? What are some of the things you are using ? and where is your cancer spread to?

Thank you ! Susan

Sorry have not filled out my whole history with B.C yet as it goes back 23 years. But now have mets to liver, lungs possible ovarian tumor, small spots on bones. Estrogen + her 2-.

Sierrasue, I’ve been around here for several years and can’t think of anyone who did only non standard cancer treatment. Some have used complementary things, like fasting, supplements and dietary and physical fitness routines but those were in addition to oral chemo’s and/or targeted therapies. Some have tried this or that but I haven’t seen anything reported to have worked long term. You might try a search for a specific medication or treatment (juicing, mistletoe, etc), if you’re curious but many of those threads have been inactive. Good luck.

    Sierrasue,

I agree with what illimae posted. There have been a very few members who only used alternative therapies at stage IV but no one I can think of who still posts. Our alternative threads are a bit quiet but many of us have used complementary tx to help with side effects and overall well being.

I think bco is fabulous and it has sustained me in many ways over a decade but I will be honest and say it heavily leans toward research/science based conventional medicine in terms of the entire site as well as its members. Below, is part of the header on all threads in the alternative forum.

Breastcancer.org does NOT recommend or endorse alternative medicine.
