edited November 2021 in Not Diagnosed But Worried

Starting a new thread because this is a different topic.

Oct 2021-I had a mammo/US done and a 8 mm cyst (report did not say what kind of cyst) was found on US. Birad 2 benign.

Nov 2021- sent for a MRI due to nipple discharge/issues. The only MRI finding was a nodule enhancement in the same area. Birad 4 (second look US and possible biopsy suggested).

Nov 2021- second US - same cyst identified that seems to be the nodule on the MRI. Complex cyst with thin septations and no change in size since 2019 but minimally more complex than in 2020. No increase in vascularity and no posterior acoustic shadowing (what does that mean?). Didn’t mention comparison to the Oct 2021 ultrasound’s benign cyst? But clearly that’s the only finding. Birad 3- re-do US in 3 months.

This cyst has been in my screening US since 2019. Should I be concerned that it went from Birad 2 to 3 in a month in 2021? Is it possible that they have to grade it a 3 because of the suspicious MRI results?

Thanks.

You have apparently been diagnosed w/o cancer but to come back in three months. So... Have they put your mind to rest that you don't have Pagets? And have you been able to stop googling? Hopefully one of the docs has managed to get you on some anti-anxiety medication that will work. It's really hard to keep this running around & around in your head.

Yes, my BS has convinced me that I don’t have Pagets.

I started this whole process because I saw discharge. And no one seems to know what caused it after all the imaging. I would love for my head to stop thinking about it too. It’s hard when I continue to have tingling/pain/itchiness in the nipple area, so something is causing it.

I think it’s valid to wonder if the symptoms can be caused by this cyst then (since it is not Pagets). The BS said we can biopsy the cyst if it looks the same in 3 months to see if there’s a papilloma inside. I guess I will just endure the symptoms for 3 more months. I know this is nothing compared to what a lot of you have been through. Thanks for listening!
