    Kay,
So sorry to hear this news.
I will definately be thinking postive thoughts for his acceptance at Boston Medical University for treatment.
Like Gerri said he has you on his side and that is definately a plus.

God bless and keep us updated if you are able.

Thanks to you all, sisters. Yes, my DH and I think this is not fair too. But, then, nobody every promised that life would be fair, sis they? Those of us here know that better than anybody else.

The first thing you could all do is pray that the drugs that Ed will start on Tuesday will halt the progress of this disease, and clear up some of his symptoms.

And then you could pray that he's accepted into the transplant program at Boston Medical University.

And if you have any prayers left over, then talk to the man up stairs about the transplant being successful.

I'm not going away. I'll be pestering you guys about supplements, and MSG and stuff for a long time. VBG

As far as I'm concerned, I have a Dr's apt tomorrow evening. I'll take my husband with me--she's our family doctor, and we both trust her implicitly. I'm asking for a tranquilizer--enough is enough, already!

I hope the transplant is successful! My thoughts are with you two. Hang in there. Where there is hope...there are possibilities!

Yep, I'm done. A little nervous because when I went in for my positioning appointment with the rad onc last Monday, she said we had to get fresh CT and bone scans because of the "suspicious" areas on my base lines. My med onc says not to be worried, that she's not and that the rad onc tends to be very careful; but I'll still be happy to get official word later this week. Had the bone scan yesterday and the CT today. The good news is that they gave me some water-like stuff for the CT, instead of the chalk like stuff. Much easier on my system!!

I have begun a separate thread for this topic in Moving Beyond called "Kay's Husband." I will keep making updates so that anybody who wants to can know the latest news.

Right now, we're in a holding pattern until he can get to Boston.

    Oh Kay,
I feel so bad, I just found out about your husband. I am truly sorry you two have to go through this. You are one strong cookie, so I can only assume your dh is also.
You bet I'll pray for him and I so hope he gets into Boston. If I can do anything, please let me know. I'm within a few miles of you.
    Hugs,
    Denise

    Hi Everyone,

    How's everyone doing?

Anne – Did you get your results yet? When do you start rads?

Ann – How are you doing? How’s the knee? Are you getting around a little easier these days?

Mary – You crack me up. You do NOT have a big head! Love the sign – great job.

Nancy – Thanks for setting up the team. I checked out the team page and it looks great. I’ll be signing up in the next few days.

Trish – How are you doing? Are you feeling better yet?

Kay, I've been praying for you and your husband. When will you find out if he is accepted for a transplant? The waiting must be unbearable. You mentioned tranquilizers. That sounds like a good idea. How about an anti-depressant?
Irene, How are you? I haven't been posting because typing with a cast on my right arm is difficult. I make so many errors and it is painful too. My operative knee is very strong. I've been very dutiful about exercises and p.t. Now the other knee is complaining that it would like the same procedure. However, I can't do that till I sell this house and get into a one floor place.

Anna, first we have to go to Boston for his intake exam. And they will tell us then what they think. Then they'll put him on the list, and he has to wait his turn. Waiting it really tough--but we all know that. He had a bladder infection this week, after his sinus infection two weeks ago. Seems like it's one thing after another.

Hope you sell your house so you can get your other knee done. Gotten any nibbles?

    Hi All,

Yes, Irene, I got my tests back and the results were good so I'm just waiting for the rad onc to call with my schedule. I expect to start rads the week of April 9.

Still sending prayers and hugs your way, Kay.

Just found this board. I'm from Westland, Michigan. I was diagnosed with DCIS in Dec. Had 2 surgeries and just finished 6 weeks of radiation on March 6. Are there any support groups that meet in this area? I work outside the home and have 2 children 5 and 9. I thought a support group along with these discussion boards might help! Thanks!

    Welcome Aqyurnek!

I know there are support groups through some of the hospitals but not to sure which ones. Quite a few of us met a few weeks ago for lunch. Very supportive and alot of fun. You will love it here!

Welcome Aqyurnek! Nice to meet you.

The only support group that I am aware of is the Gilda's Club on Rochester Rd, just north of 13 Mile, but that's a bit of a hike for you. Have you tried calling the local ACS chapter?

Just saw the sweet banner in the Get Together thread. Thank you so much for thinking of me. All is well except I have a cold so birthday celebrations will have to be put off for a bit - no biggie. Again, thanks for the neat banner!!!

I missed your birthday Pat. Hope your cold is over quickly so you can celebrate.

Welcome Aqyurnek! There are several ladies on this board from Wayne County. I'm pretty sure that both St. Joe's and UofM have support groups. If that is not too far from you, I can find out their meeting dates for you. I have never joined because this site has given me so much support.

Hope you can meet us for our next get-together.

Hi everyone! Hope you are enjoying this weather.

Congratulation Candi on your son's 4 YEAR SCHOLARSHIP - woohoo!

Irene, I am finally starting to feel better! YAY!! I thought I would never bounch back after that last chemo but I am getting stronger every day. I have a Dr.s appointment Monday and he will most likely get me ready for radiation.

Kay, so sorry about your husband. I am praying that everything goes good. Sorry you have to go through this with him.

I hope everyone is doing great. I haven't been on in a while but I have been wondering how you all were.
    Take care,
    Trish

agyurnek- HI- I'm also from Westland. I'm still going through radiation. I haven't looked for a group, but thought I'd let you know I'm here if you need to chat. YOu can PM me here if you'd like. I'm not currently working so I'd be happy to talk or meet anytime. ((hugs))

Is there going to be another Michigan get together before the Komen RFTC in June ? I'm hoping to be able to meet some of you wonderful ladies.
