Can anyone tell me what measurements this is? Is it wider or taller 10×5×6? Small mass, Hypochoetic, 9:00 right breast well circumsized, breasts extremely dense, calcification.

The numbers are probably in millimeters and 10mm is small. The imaging report should say whether it looks taller or wider (taller is more suspicious).

Hypoechoic means that it looks denser than the surrounding tissue (suspicious).

Well circumscribed means it has a clear and definitive border. A lot of benign findings are well circumscribed.

Dense breast means a lot of fibrous tissue which can make it difficult to see problems. There is a radiology scale of 1-4 in terms of density.

Calcification means that there is a small grain of calcified tissue. A cluster or pattern of them is more suspicious than a single calcification.

9:00 right is saying it is in the 9:00 o’clock position if looking at the right breast like a clock face with the nipple in the middle. Usually a measurement of millimeters away from the nipple is given too.

Thank you. It's says 5 cm from nipple. Also says slightly heterogenous. I don't see anything about if wider or taller.

The 9:00 o’clock and the measurement from the nipple is to help locate it later for biopsy or comparison in the future.

I suspect you’ll be referred to get a biopsy to investigate this mass.If you’re BIRADS-3 and the small mass is well circumscribed, that’s probably an indication it is likely a benign issue but the biopsy will tell you for certain.

I thought a person had to be Birads 4 for insurance to pay for a biopsy, and that 3 was for reexamination in 3 or 6 months? There may be exceptions, but I'm pretty sure those are the standard.

Thank you for your explanations and responses, I have to go back for a short interval follow up in March. It all looks good as far as being benign but I wanted to know why it's not Birads 2 and def benign and questionable (I'm assuming it's because it's solid and slightly heterogenous but I'm not sure) so I wanted to know if anyone could tell me if it is measured longer than wide or wider than long...it was written as 10×6×5,. I am assuming it must me okay or else it would have said and it doesn't. Thank you
