Hi ladies, yes my story is somewhere in here but I’m so sorry to say that many of us move on and shame on us long term survivors. You know there are many out there. Finally they are finding amazing treatments for us. And did you hear that after 5 years the chances of it ever coming back goes way down. I read in one study after 10 years they call you cured. Well at least these are the studies I focus on. The people with any negative thoughts I just pray for🙄

So here’s a brief story. Diagnosed at 39 with stage one garden variety breast cancer. That’s what my doctor called it. In 1986 it was just breast cancer and my nodes were negative. Had lumpectomy and 6 weeks of radiation. Had follow ups for 3 year and then it was so long it’s been good to know you. Then in 2002 I had a second breast cancer in my other breast. This time stage 2 . Still in 2002 there was no mention of triple negative but the tumor being grade 3 it was advised I get chemo and after chemo taxol. Well being who I am , stubborn and stupid, I refused. Had a double mastectomy and was good to go🤓. I will Never forget my daughter looking at me and saying “mom what if this happens to one of us, would you want us to get chemo,” oops didn’t like hearing that. Well don’t you know after me having a second diagnosis my daughter at 34 convinced her doctor to give her a mammogram. Well this was less than 6 months after me. She had cancer in both her breasts. Triple negative in one and lobular in the other. She immediately had a mastectomy and a tram flap. An 8 hour surgery that I believe they no longer do. She was stage 1 with no node involvement. Her treatment was 4 treatments of chemo., that’s it. I’m sure this seems archaic compared to what all of you are getting. But back then who knew. Well anyway that was almost 20 years ago. She is gorgeous, and unlike her mom goes to the gym and keeps herself gorgeous,

So it’s been 36 years and I am as healthy as a horse other then bad knees that I need to replace. Didn’t help that I was a runner for 13 years. Both my daughters are also so their stupid like their mom. When your Italian and love pasta that’s what you have to do. So now that I don’t run I’m eating pasta and guess what, but I’d rather be 75 and a fat and healthy Italian 🤭

Hope this helps I love all of you and sending you all big hugs🤗
