Lung Crud *Sigh*

I am almost halfway through radiation, which so far is going well and has been uneventful.... save for one little thing.

During my meeting with my RO, she showed me my CT scan and noted that I have a fair amount of lung nodules, the largest of which is 7mm, but most of which are very small. I am waiting for the hospital's lung centre to contact me so that I can follow up on this. They do not seem to be in any kind of a hurry. She assured me this was common but that they will want to follow up.

On the one hand, I am not too surprised this would come up: I have had allergies all my life including a pretty sever allergy to dust and mould, which triggers asthma and a cough. I use albuterol regularly, but not so often that I have considered it a larger problem. But trust me: I *cannot* be the one to clean the attic unless I wear a protective mask.

I don't smoke and have never been a smoker (outside of the odd cigarette at rock concerts when I was young), and consider myself relatively healthy (I can go on a 5k run, not especially fast, but I don't end up winded). I hope this serves me well.

I am *terrified* of metastatic cancer particularly in the lungs since this is what killed my father. I don;t have any reason to believe this is metastatic-- my tumor was small, margins and sentinal nodes sparkling clean.

What should I expect next? What do they typically do? How common is this? Assuming this isn't a major problem (hopeful) is there any way to rid yourself of lung crud?
