Hello everyone,

I have been having discomfort and a nagging pain on my left breast for the past few weeks now. I rushed for a physical exam and th gyno could not see or feel any abnormalities. She suggested i wait for my period as it may be hormonal (I was due in 1 week). However i have never experienced such pain, usually both my breasts hurt.

Anyways, fast forward, i got my period and it's over but the pain is still there. If it helps, i am 30 years old and i had my vaccine (johnson) and travelled recently. I am not sure if this has something to do with my pain and discomfort. I do not have any lumps, discharge, swelling, redness, dimpling, thickening skin.

I am going in for an ultrasound on Monday. If my ultrasound is clean, what do you think is causing my pain? How much time shall i give the pain to resolve until i go for further checkup?

I am literally losing my sleep over this. Please someone shed some light on this topic.

Hi Goingcrazyhelpme, We're sorry you're having ongoing breast pain. It's really difficult for us to be able to tell what that could be.

There are many different benign breast conditions. You can read here: benign breast conditions. We hope that the ultrasound can give some information, and please keep us posted!

    Warmly,

I had my ultrasound today. I have cysts in both breasts, even the one which was completely normal with no discomfort. The doctor told me its normal and caused by fluctuations in hormones and there is nothing to worry about. It is nothing to do with cancer/ any form of malignancy.

Needless to say, I am beyond relieved.

Very good news. *Most* breast pain is from normal, benign things. That said, it's good to be checked when something unusual happens. You did the right thing.
