I had a biopsy of my right breast for suspected (now confirmed) DCIS, just over 4 weeks ago. Over the last few days, the pain in that breast in the area where the cancer is, has been hurting. It's like a sharp stabbing pain. Is this normal? I was left with a large hematoma after the biopsy, could that contribute?

I had a bruise that lasted about five week, and sharp pain. I suspected it had a lot to do with the clip they placed in me. I don’t have that pain at all since having the mx. I hope you feel better soon

    Hi a_nic_

When I had my biopsy I also had pain for several weeks and a huge bruise. Some of the pain I think came from when the biopsy was finished, the medical assistant used the heel of her hand and jammed it against me to stop the bleeding. I was definitely sore from that. The pain will subside, it just takes longer than you think.

I'm sorry you're still having pain. Mine was painful for several weeks. I felt as if my actual lumpectomy and sentinel node removal were less painful than the biopsy.

Thank you guys! I haven’t had the odd pain in a few days luckily. It was just odd how it would come from nowhere and be so sharp and stabbing.
