Gardening, anyone?

Jazzy,
Lovely blooms!
A frog patiently waiting to catch a meal in our tiny frog pond.
-
I went to pick sunflowers today
-
Jazzy,
While picking the lovely sunflowers there must have been constant buzzing present in the field, which was produced by bees.
Such a pretty bouquet of sunflowers!
My pic of a wild morning glory bloom.
-
Teka- yes, lots of bees but also there was a wonderful hummingbird that came up to watch me while I was trying to decide on a particular sunflower for a clipping. They are such friendly creatures, probably because they can escape quickly. My bouquet is getting better all the time with more blooms opening on it. Simple joys of life!
-
Jazzy,
I am still seeing hummers!
A flock of wild turkeys feeding in the backyard.
"September days are here,
With summer's best of weather,
And autumn's best of cheer."
- Poet Helen Hunt Jackson -
My lemon button fern died. So yesterday my hubby got me another Christmas Cactus. Gonna put it in his office.

This is a great thread, and timely for me to have found it! We have a community garden a few houses down from me and I finally got a plot there after waiting on line for over a year. I've never gardened, but my DIL has a green thumb, so she is partnering with me. Below are my seedlings I plan to plant possibly tomorrow in my 10x20 ft plot. I have to get marigolds to plan around them to help with bugs. I will probably take up half the plot and my DIL /Son the other half. I have some herbs - parsley, basil and oregano along with tomato, carrots and cucumbers
-
It has been salsa time around here 🙂
-
Transferred my new Christmas cactus to a new planter

Fall rock garden facelift
-
HomeMom,
Welcome to the thread. Your seedlings look good. A green thumb in no time!
Jazzy,
A colorful fall rock garden!
I would like a taste of your salsa!
MOmmyof3,
I never had good luck growing ferns as houseplants!
A hummer was at the flowers and 38*F.
My nasturtiums love the cooler fall weather!
So far no frost.
-
Teka- wow so beautiful!
-
Now there will be pie.

My last fall blooms!

I have no blooms left except on the yellow rose bush that's confused. They don't last when they're picked, so they'll stay on the bush. Perhaps we'll have rose hips.
-
Teka - my seedlings now:
That a weed in the middle, I was sending a picture to my DIL to identify! I have about 7-10 cucumbers immerging, and the cherry tomato plants are huge!
-
HomeMom,
You do have a green thumb!
Your seedlings look good.
I think a weed in the middle, but interested if your DIL can identify.
Daughter's lovely outdoor pic taken during October at her home.

Teka - yes, she said "IT's a weed! Pull it!!" LOL. There were tons of them in there
-
My petunias are having a late fall revival. No hard frost yet
-
Beautiful Jazzygirl!
-
More petunias
-
Red oak in full color
-
When do you pick cucumbers?
-
Those look delicious! I'd pick them now if you can use them or give them to someone.
-
I'm going to try pickling the smaller ones
-
Still no frost here
-
Jazzy,
I like the light-colored petunia in your November 6th post. I planted darker colored petunias but feel time for a change in 2022.
HomeMom,
Gram pickled a lot of cucumbers.
L8Blmr,
Welcome to the thread!
