anyone else feels like your loved ones don’t understand? I’m new to this dx and can’t be around anyone. Only here so I find a little peace or when I’m alone. I guess cause I pray more. This going to be a long road. And I just hope I’m ready.

    Barb,

Just as a bc diagnosis is an unpleasant shock for most of us, so it is for our family. One thing that I found helped with my own family was to learn about the details of breast cancer with my family so we all could reach a better understanding of what was happening. I am a recently retired teacher and a firm believer in knowledge is power.

I don’t know the age of your family members but the American Cancer Society has good resources for talking with family members about cancer. You might also consider family counseling or support groups. With patience, time, and the proper support your family can learn the best ways to support you as well as deal with their own fears and anxieties. Take care
