Swollen lymph node in neck

Options

Hi friends I am going absolutely crazy. I had a node on right side of neck swollen I believe in July or august and had an ultrasound done. It was not cancerous and oncologist was not worried Few days ago I had neck pain and it went away. But the node is still there.

I have a node behind my ear that has been off and on for few years and node in my groin which is something fatty that doctor told me also from few years.

I still worry and luckily have an appointment next week with my oncologist to see if I can get another ultrasound done to see the node in the neck. The worrying never stops

I have had persistent swollen neck nodes for a year now. Best any doctor can guess, they seem to be related to my sinuses/ears. 3 ultrasounds so far and none see anything of concern - while I have multiple swollen nodes, none are enlarged enough to warrant concern and they all look normal.

Yeah, it drives me crazy too, particularly when one aches or seems more swollen. And then I remind myself that if it hurts and if it changes size, those are signs of a reactive node, not a cancerous node. I commented about this in another thread quite a few months ago and there were a number of people who showed up who said that they have the same thing. My ENT said that sometimes reactive nodes never go back down to their original size. But that doesn't mean I don't worry and don't wonder if one of these times, the ultrasound will show something more and all the doctors who dismissed this will go, "Huh, how did we miss that?"

I think it's reasonable for you to request another ultrasound. I had a second one at 6 weeks, a follow-up 6 months later and have another 6 month follow-up ultrasound scheduled for January.

I've got one in the middle of my neck (top to bottom), kind of under my ear. I've had an ultrasound which said benign, and I guess it was included in a PET scan I had in June for something else, but covered lower head through upper thighs. Nothing lit up there, but it does get a little achy at times, especially if I turn my neck to that side. But after seeing weird benign things show up on my insides on scans, I figure, why not have some on the outside, too? But I'll probably remind my doctor it's still there at my next appointment.

Even something such as a smalll pimple or ingorwn hair can cause a very swollen lymph node. Sometimes those infection fighters are voerachievers, but they do cause a lot of stess. Keep an eye on it.

Thank you KBee. I take Nerlynx too and get like cold like symptoms at times. Yesterday when I started fo feel bad I thought it’s just the medicine but then in the morning got like full blown congested nose and now waiting for covid test results. The stress never ends.
