Where to go for Second Opinion

And where to go from here ?

My dear friend, Just dx today, with Stage 4 metastatic breast adenocarcinoma ( spread to the lungs)

We live in NY she is close to the city but willing to travel anywhere or send her records anywhere to be reviewed.

Started this drug regimen today:

Letrozole 2.5 mg

Zoladex ovarian suppression

Ribociclib

Dr is not recommending surgery, chemo or radiation of any kind.

Any recommendations for a second opinion or any thoughts or insight in anyway about the disease would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, Frank. In New York, the two NCCN cancer centers are Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. NCCN centers are the leaders. Second choice, an NCI designated cancer center. Third choice, another university-based teaching hospital.

    That sounds like a reasonable treatment plan. Often in stage iv, they save chemo for later, because these hormonal + targeted therapies can give great results and are less toxic. It's a marathon, not a sprint. If your friend would also like to sign up here, she can post on the threads for lung mets and for the drugs she is on, etc. Let us know if you or she needs help navigating.

    Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

    She is lucky to be in NY, no need to travel.
