Peace of mind just can't be bought. Trust me: Even if your conscience doesn't stop you from playing dirty to get what you want, once you get it, it will keep you from enjoying it. As my mother used to say, "A good conscience is God's eye." Which is why I always prefer a loss to an underhanded gain; the one brings pain at the moment, the other for all time. -Patti LaBelle

The Values of an Inspired Life.
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie -
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
- Leo Buscaglia - -
"It is good to have money and the things that money can buy,
but it's good too, to check up once in a while
and make sure you haven't lost the things money can't buy."— GEORGE HORACE LORIMER
-
Integrity is not a conditional word. It doesn't blow in the wind or change with the weather. It is your inner image of yourself, and if you look in there and see a person who won't cheat, then you know you never will. -John MacDonald
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity, nothing else matters. -Alan Simpson
-
We are not victims of aging, sickness and death.
These are part of scenery, not the seer,
who is immune to any form of change.
This seer is the spirit, the expression of eternal being.
- Deepak Chopra -
The ideals which have lighted me on my way and time after time given me new courage to face life cheerfully, have been Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. . . . The ordinary objects of human endeavor -- property, outward success, luxury -- have always seemed to me contemptible. -Albert Einstein

A woman once told me that she did not feel the need to reach out to those around her because she prayed every day. Surely, this was enough. But a prayer is about our relationship to God; a blessing is about our relationship to the spark of God in one another. God may not need our attention as badly as the person next to us on the bus or behind us in line in the supermarket. Everyone in the world matters, and so do their blessings. When we bless others, we offer them refuge from an indifferent world. -Rachel Naomi Remen

All of nature offers lessons on living, free of charge. One morning I noticed a dead tree supporting many living things--fungus, vines, lichen--which taught me that even after death we can continue to support those who live on. Living trees on our property teach other lessons. One tree has grown around a barbed wire fence. Another has grown around a nail, and a third through a chain link fence. These trees teach me how to accept irritation, absorb the pain and grow around problems. Nature teaches me how to find my place, grow toward the sunlight and bypass obstacles. To survive, we must be able to change in response to whatever is required by the challenge of the moment. Our bodies know this, but our minds often rebel when change is necessary. -BernieSiegel

"Peace is not something you attain.
It is a permanent state of being within you
that you choose to allow in every moment, or not." -
The mystery of language was revealed to me.
I knew then that 'w-a-t-e-r' meant the wonderful
cool something that was flowing over my hand.
That living word awakened my soul, gave it light, joy, set it free!"— HELEN KELLER
"Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind."
— RUDYARD KIPLING

Just as gardeners cultivate their plots, keeping them free from weeds, and growing the flowers and fruits which they require, so may a person tend the garden of his or her mind, weeding out all the wrong, useless, and impure thoughts, and cultivating toward perfection the flowers and fruits of right, useful, and pure thoughts. By pursuing this process, a person sooner or later discovers that he or she is the master-gardener of his or her soul, the director of his or her life.
James Allen -
Illusions command themselves to us because they save us pain and allow us to enjoy pleasure instead. We must therefore accept it without complaint when they sometimes collide with a bit of reality against which they are dashed to pieces. -Sigmund Freud
-
Once you know with abundant certainty that nothing can trouble you but your own imagination, you come to disregard your desires and fears, concepts and ideas, and live by truth alone. -Nisargadatta
-
Stand often in the company of dreamers.
They believe you can achieve impossible things.
- Mary Anne Radmacher -
Our opportunity is to Soar our Spirit.
To see Light and Joy in everything.
To spread our wings and fly boldly.
To give thanks for rainbows and butterflies -
our symbols of renewal and rebirth.
To offer daily Thanksgiving - for ourselves, our family,
our friends, our community, for the whole world.
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie -
"Whoever you are, there is some younger person who thinks you are perfect. There is some work that will never be done if you don't do it. There is someone who would miss you if you were gone. There is a place that you alone can fill."
-- Jacob Braude -
The end does NOT justify the means.
Freedom cannot be gained by sacrificing the freedom of others.
Free speech cannot be gained by limiting the free speech of others.
Human rights cannot be secured by trampling the human rights of others.
Viciousness in others cannot be fought by becoming vicious oneself.
Neither individual nor nation can long survive by meeting hatred with hatred, injustice with injustice, prejudice with prejudice.
Freedom Demands Freedom for All
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie -
Love people who hate you. Pray for people who have wronged you.
It won't just change their life, it will change yours.
- Mandy Hale -
There is no chance, no destiny, no fate,
Can circumvent or hinder or control
The firm resolve of a determined soul."— ELLA WHEELER WILCOX
-
The moment I have realized God sitting in the temple of every human body, the moment I stand in reverence before every human being and see God in him – that moment I am free from bondage, everything that binds vanishes, and I am free. Swami Vivekanada

By being yourself, you put something wonderful in the world that was not there before. -Edwin Elliot There is only one you for all time. Fearlessly be yourself. -unattributed
-
In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves.
The process never ends until we die.
And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.- Eleanor Roosevelt
-
Our lives are to be used and thus to be lived as fully as possible,
and truly it seems that we are never so alive as when
we concern ourselves with other people.
- Harry Chapin -
Don't be in a hurry. Watch a flower grow. It is not in a hurry.
It does not compare itself with other flowers. It does not
wish to be some other color or some other shape. The flower
does not try to bloom. As long as the conditions are suitable,
it will come into full bloom and the flower trusts that.
So just relax and be in harmony with the real.
Leonard Jacobson -
Can we recognize our oneness, though? And what will happen if we
not only start to see that we are connected to the other human beings
in our lives, but also start to live as if that were true? Would we
become more compassionate if we were to recognize the same hopes
and dreams that we have, there in someone else? Would we be able
to help someone else feel more hope in their lives? Would we feel
more at home and at peace in our own places in this world if we were
to keep in mind that we are an important part of the human race, and
that we have many chances every day to improve the lot of humanity
by improving the life of a fellow human being, even in tiny ways?
tom walsh -
"A great attitude does much more than turn on the lights in our worlds; it seems to magically connect us to all sorts of serendipitous opportunities that were somehow absent before the change."
– – Earl Nightingale
