congrats Nevo and thank you for posting. I am triple positive so hormone positive as opposite to your moms. I do not know really the impact of that difference. But we both are her2positive. Every time I see a Her2positive long term survivor story, I gives me hope.
Merry Christmas and Brighter 2021 to all of us ladies. May we all stay healthy and well for many many years to come.

Arc66 2 months short of 6 years metastatic.

Arc66 sorry, just realised this thread was a five year plus recognition of being cancer free! Well done to all of you who have achieved this.
-
Arc66, I believe the thread is a congratulations for anyone who is still alive and kicking after 5 years, so you definitely 'qualify'!

congrats Lisa!
I am triple positive too and all good outcomes are encouraging. I have post surgery necrosis too and does seem going away after 16 months. Your want away? If yes how long it took? Thank

I'm 7 years out this December

This just popped up on active topics so I thought I'd post. I hit my five years since diagnosis on August 29th. With my lousy pathology (five kinds of cancer spread across seven tumors in both breasts) I wasn't sure I'd make it this far.
Yet here I am. Kinda battered, forever changed, but still here. Hopefully for a very long time.

-
My wife is 9 years out now. Doing well.
-
Five years for me. Just had my annual mammo & US and everything looked fine.
-
7 years for me...looking forward to many more!
-
5 years for me. I find out the results of my Breast Cancer Index next week to find out if I need to continue my AI. I also alternate getting a mammo and MRI every 6 months.
-
Six years and doing well. Best wishes to all in 2022.
-
6 years Christmas Eve...from recurrence. Will be 10 yrs from start in a few weeks. I cannot fathom the complaints about covid precautions. Some people have no clue how hard we fought to be here so be extra careful and chin up. Keep up the fight on both fronts ladies! You can do it!
-
have any of you experienced wbc drop while taking letrozole? In previous blood tests was borderline by last one was 3.9 even lower than the borderline My last chimie was 2.5 years ago. Recently I was diagnosed with osteoporosis due to letrozole so I do not know if it is another side effect or something else. I am worried and my appointment with mo is in 8 days. I appreciate your experience on this.
-
My 5 years with stage IV was November 16th (I forgot about this thread), yay me 😀
-
My five year cancerversary was 8/29/21. Didn't think I'd make it this long. Couple of my surgeons didn't think I would either. Glad to prove them wrong.
