FitOn-Excellent, Free Physical and Mental Fitness app
Hi, all!
I did a keyword search and didn't see FitOn mentioned anywhere within the community, so hopefully this info isn't redundant. I just wanted to suggest the free FitOn app/platform to anyone who is looking for a wide range of physical and mental fitness classes that can be done in your living room. I began using FitOn a couple of years ago after my daughter recommended it to me. At first, I put it off because it was one of those, “Oh, great, a fitness app that is SUPPOSEDLY free. There's either a catch or it's no good." But when I eventually tried it, I absolutely loved it. And no, there is no referral program or any of that annoying stuff- just free classes
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of classes available and they really are free. (You can opt to join a membership level that curates nutrition and several other things, but I've never found that necessary, so I can't speak to that.) The classes range from meditation to strength training to yoga/Pilates to hard core interval training and there are classes available that range from 5 minutes to 60 minutes+. You can search by category, by trainer (including some celebrity trainers like Cassey Ho who has a fitness line at Target, I think), intensity, time, etc.
What I loved about it BEFORE my recent cancer diagnosis is that I could easily stick to a workout routine. I'm fit, but I have always hated to work out; I would rather do heavy manual labor than do aerobics! What I found was that I could make myself commit to two or three 20 minute workouts in my living room, but would always put off setting aside an hour plus drive time to go to a gym. I also love that I could pick workouts and add them to my own “Challenge" which I could choose to set a completion date for (or not) or invite family and friends to join (or not), which added accountability and variety. There are tons of challenges already created by FitOn and by individuals for different focuses, too. Some are body area focused, others are focused on the type of workout, etc. There are on-demand and scheduled classes, and you can also schedule specific times to do workouts together with friends (which is fun).
What I think is great about it for those of us at various stages of our breast cancer diagnosis and treatment is that there is literally something for every health level, every stage of recovery, and every mental breakdown status (that's where meditation and yoga classes have come in handy). And you can do the classes just about anywhere if you have your phone.
Anyway, I have recommended the app to tons of friends and family and I wanted to share here as well. I have gained so much from this entire community and just wanted to try to offer something back. The fact that there is such a wide range of classes in many different genres and at many different levels is wonderful, and the fact that it is free is just icing on the cake. After all, cancer ain't cheap! 😳
I hope it will provide an accessible resource for anyone who is looking for new ways to incorporate fitness into their lives. Here is a screen shot of just some of the categories of classes available.

Thank you for the information. I'm down for trying something new with my exercise routine!
Have a great day!

L8Blmr- you’ll have to let me know what you think if you try it. I did a few short yoga workouts today and was reminded that it has been too long since I’ve used (or stretched) a few muscles!

Jen2957, I will. Yoga is what I'm interested in since the yoga studio I went used closed during Covid.
