Dimple beside breast
I've noticed about 2 months ago while doing my self breast test that I get a dimple beside my right breast when I lift my armand often get an itchy nipple - I stupidly googled what it could be and scared myself 🤦🏻♀️ I ended up going to a dr and more or less got laughed at and was told it would probably be just an old trauma wound??? ive never been hit or hurt there so this seems odd to me. So I guess I'm just wondering if someone could tell me if I'm being stupid for worrying or should I get a second opinion.

First I'd get a new doctor; I wouldn't appreciate being laughed at for a health concern. If you are worried, definitely get a second opinion with a breast specialist if only to set your mind at ease. Good luck to you.

Push for a mammogram and targeted ultrasound.
I’m 39 and my breast cancer was caught bc I had a dimple. It didn’t show on mammogram at all, but a targeted ultrasound found the mass.
It could be nothing but it could be something. sorry your physician is an ass.
Good luck.

I had an "old trauma wound" also from a lumpectomy of a benign fibroadenoma when I was 19. Anything that went wrong in that area for decades, I was told was old nerve damage, scar tissue, etc., so when I got a dimple next to my nipple at about 65-66, I figured it was breast changes of aging, more of same, and that if I went in I'd be told it was the "old damage". Admittedly, I had some other symptoms too, like some redness and a change in the old scar, but when I googled and considered my old history together, I assumed I would be told my problem was benign. You got scared when you googled, I got reassured. Well, when I finally went to see someone (was in no hurry due to what I said previously) I was told it was breast cancer and was referred for biopsies, etc. Turned out to be a 5.5 cm IDC in the exact same spot as the lumpectomy from 46-47 years before, so it's definitely worth getting stuff checked out.
I also agree with the above posters and that you should never have been laughed at or not taken seriously (that has happened to me too, and I switched dr's whenever that happened.) I think what 1982M said about pushing for a mammogram and ultrasound is the way to go. Don't rest until you get the answers you need. You might be young, but you still need to make certain. Good, good, luck to you! I hope it is just something minor.

Thankyou for your replies, I’ve just been to see another doctor - she found a lump under the dimple and has sent me for an ultrasound. I also noticed that under my other arm is really swollen so they are checking that out too. I can’t get in for a scan until 2nd November (and that’s an emergency spot - otherwise I would have to wait until early next year. The perks of living in a town in the middle of nowhere)
Thankyou - I’ll let you know how I go

Glad you went for that second opinion!!! You'll be ok (medically) until the 2nd though emotionally the waiting is very difficult. Do what you can to stay occupied and distracted while waiting. If results do not come back benign either by scan or if you end up needing a biopsy at some point I hope you'll send the first doc a note or copy of findings or something. So invalidating and unfortunate!! No-one should experience what you did.....
