Pain when lifting arm.

Hello I am just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like what I have going on. The arm on my cancer side is painful when lifting my arm above shoulder height. It starts in my armpit and extends to the bend of my arm. I have no pain if I lift my arm but do not extend at my elbow. I also have pain upon palpitation along this path of pain. Also probably unrelated I have a knot in the bend of my arm. I have no recent injuries that I am aware of. Just wondering if this could be because of surgery or rads or am I too far out for that to be a thing? Thank you.

It sounds like cording/axillary web syndrome. Google it and see if it sounds similar to what you are experiencing. It is treated with exercises and massage therapy.

Second cording. I’m dealing with it now :(. It feels like a bungee cord is overextended when I move my arm in an in opportune way… like extending it over head. Do you have a lymphedema expert you are/has been working with? Mine is treating it with (as xxyzed said) massage and stretching, as well as cold laser treatments.

thank you for responding! I had a lymphedema therapist that did measurements when I had rads. I have a routine follow up with my breast surgeon coming up and will ask for the referral back to her.
