I was dxin Feb with Mets to liver only and I haven't seen anyone else on here. Most everyone has liver and bone. Is that the common progression? I had 6 treatments and will have CAT next Monday. Is it inevitable it will spread to bones? I am almost 76 and praying God will make clear my path. Thanks.

We have a liver mets thread right here: https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/8/topics/...

I suggest you join us there! There are people with just liver mets.

Progression is different for everyone. The most common site of initial breast cancer mets is actually bones. (then liver, lung, brain). Whether you progress or not really depends on how well you respond to treatments. There are people on that thread who have cleared their liver mets completely.

Hope to see you on that thread OhioNana! Just click the link and join us there.

    ohionana,

Yes, do check out the liver mets thread that moth referred to. There are no steps or order to progression. You can have mets start in any one of the typical places, bones, brain, liver lungs and if you then have progression it can be to the place your mets were originally found or another place altogether. Or, you might have no progression at all for a while. I think the human brain naturally seeks patterns or logical order. Unfortunately with bc, there doesn’t seem to be much of that. Take care.

OhioNana, I've had liver-only mets (including probable bile duct) coming and going for seven years, and no bone mets. Well, there was a metastatic tumor in the breast but my first treatment made it disappear. See you on the liver mets thread?

Ohionana - I was diagnosed de novo with liver mets only in June, reached NED in February. Hold onto your hope. See you in the liver mets thread (thanks, moth); there are a lot of very knowledgeable ladies (and a few men) there.
