Diagnostic Mammo & U/S needed

Options

Had my annual mammo on this past Friday. Got notified today that I need to have followup due to "Indeterminate asymmetry in the medial right breast, anterior depth". I have never been very good about doing my self exams. I am lumpy and could never remember if something was there from one month to the next. My grandmother had breast cancer. I have no clue how old she was when diagnosed. I know that she died from it. I've also heard that her sister had some sort of "female" cancer, but no idea what.

I know it's probably nothing - but we all know that little voice in the back of our heads doesn't shut up. My follow up is scheduled for the 19th. Thank you for "listening".

hi there! i have a biopsy coming up this friday. i also have an "indeterminate asymmetry" with microcalcification along margin. i was given a bi-rad score of 4b.

That is very suspicious. I dont check my own breasts either. They are very lumpy also! lol. Let us know how your follow up goes!!!

4kids4dogs - Wishing you all the luck with your biopsy! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that doesn't check. I think I will start and maybe keep a journal on it - maybe that will help.

LivinLife - Thank you for the welcome! Yes, lots of great info on here. Praying that I don't need it beyond this, but grateful that it's here if I do.

Went today for the mammo & u/s. It's just a cyst! I do plan on asking my doc why they don't say that it was complex, but I'm so relieved.

Findings: At the right breast 3 o'clock position 2 cm from the nipple there is a 7 x 4 mm cyst.

I definitely plan on being more vigilant about checking every month and getting used to what's normal & what's not.
