Anyone here on AI who's Er- but Pr+?
Hi all,
My mum has recently been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer that has spread to her liver. Her primary cancer was strongly Er and Pr positive (allred score 8) but her mets are Er negative and Pr positive (allred score 6).
She's been given letrozole along with ibrance and I'm just wondering if anyone here who's Er negative reacted well to hormonal therapy.
Thanks!

DaughterOf- I posted this on the other Thread you started about this subject. I copied and pasted here to hopefully help you or others that may respond here. ------
I was ER+/PR+/HER2- until recently when a new met popped up in the liver and we did a new biopsy. I am now ER-/PR+/HER2-. My MO said this is rare and that some studies have shown that the progesterone receptor plays a bigger role than they first thought. And that hormonals should still work with ER-/PR+. I am in the middle of deciding about possible local therapy--- Y90/ablation/etc--- and then I need to see if my MO is going to change systemic therapy. But I am currently still on Ibrance and Letrozole--- my first line therapy since 2017 when I was first diagnosed as ER+/PR+/HER2-

Hello Candy and thanks for replying. I'm starting this topic all over the place in hope people with specific situations and histopathology as you and my mum can provide more insight.
My mum has been on letrozole and ibrance for a month now and her oncologist wants her to only do liver enzymes now to see if they're stable (they haven't been elevated so far).
Are you still on hormonal therapy and ibrance even after your flip? How have you been reacting to it?
MRIs from beginning of June and late July show little to no difference for my mum and she wasn't on any form of treatment at that point so I guess that's good. But she's complaining of mild pain and aches in her right side occasionally. Aside from that she feels 100% okay. Idk what to think. I'm so anxious. I hope ibrance works.

DaughterOf--- We did my liver biopsy the end of April that showed the ER flip. I have still been on hormonal therapy and Ibrance since then, but I am also having small growth of my liver mets. The June scan showed continued growth. So now we are looking at changing me to something else. Probably a PARP since I have the BRCA mutation. I am doing a repeat PET today actually and I have been consulting about Y90-- a liver procedure where they radiate the liver tumors.
I hope your mom continues to do ok with the Ibrance and her next scans show that it is working. They usually allow 3 months or so for the scans to show if the Ibrance is working.

I'm so glad to hear you have other options since ibrance and hormonal therapy isn't working.
My mum did her blood work today and AST, ALT, bilirubin, gama GT and LDH are all normal. I'm a little concerned because her leukocytes are lower and neutrophiles are slightly low. She had both of these low for a while now, even before ibrance but I'm worried they won't let her increase her dosage. She started with 75mg.
