Has anyone had drains in for more than four weeks??

I had an MX on the left side, with two drains, on June 25. I have had one drain removed, but the other one is still in there and still producing plenty of fluid! (Yesterday's total was 55, and this morning alone it was 45 ml.) My plastic surgeon does not seem concerned about this, but I am beginning to feel as if I will have this drain in the rest of my life! (Not really, but I am so past ready to have it out, and it does not look as if that will be any time soon.)

So has anyone else had drains in more than four weeks post-surgery, and how did that work out for you?

I had a bilateral mastectomy in November along with a DIEP flap surgery that failed during the surgery. I went home with 4 drains (don't ask how horrible that was). The last drain didn't come out until almost 6 weeks after surgery.

I had mine for five weeks. At five weeks my PS removed them even though there was still considerable amount of drainage. Everything was fine afterwards
