CA 27-29 at 101!

Options

I am 3.5 years post IDC diagnosis - treated with lumpectomy and radiation. My doc checks CMs every year and I’m always in normal range (low). Today I got results back of CA 27-29 at 101.9! Anyone out there have a false positive? I’m freaking out.

I’m sorry you haven’t gotten any responses. Although tumor markers don’t work for everyone, they are a huge part of my life, as I have lobular, and it’s a very sneaky cancer. When I was first diagnosed de novo Stage IV, my 27-29 was 490. It’s now 315. I have extensive disease. I would say be vigilant and make sure you don’t ignore the number. Ask for imagim if you feel it would help.

if they go over a 100 I would ask for a scan. When we're metastatic already and we get normal or fairly low numbers, they can be ignored. But if you're not metastatic and you have results over 100 it should be investigated.

Hopefully it's nothing, because inflammation, infection and other things can confoun the results. Good luck
