Hi, I'm 39 and I'm scheduled for my 3rd excision biopsy in two years. Is this weird? The last two times it's been different things, PASH and something I can't recall, then duct ecstasia. It is unusual to require so many? Do I need a second opinion? If it was the same thing, Id think there was a cause I could deal with to stop it happening, but different things each time? I'm so glad they've been benign but each time, I worry I've run out of luck and I feel like it's a ticking time bomb. Doc says it's just less traumatic, and more definitive than other options.

Hi Klikker, and welcome to Breastcancer.org,

We're so sorry to hear of the worries that bring you here, but we're really glad you've decided to join and post to our Community. Someone will surely be by soon to weigh in with their advice, information, and experiences.

Also, you may find it helpful to check out the main Breastcancer.org site's pages on Benign Breast Conditions, which explains what each of these diagnoses may mean for you.

Please keep us posted on what more information you find out -- we're thinking of you!

Hi Klikker! I'm not sure of stats on such things. If you read enough on this site though you will see a number of people who have what are referred to as "busy breasts." You apparently fall in this category. I was told had I not undergone a mastectomy on my left breast I would have had many more call backs, biopsies and likely lumpectomies.... There was so much going on besides DCIS upon final pathology.... I already had several callbacks and two biopsies on my other breast.... Sending support.... Believe me I know how frustrating (and at times anxiety provoking) all these things can be.....
