Taking implants out after 9 years-NOW WHAT??

After nearly 9 years of immense bouts of fatigue, brain fog, pain in my joints, itching breasts, and overall constant discomfort, I am certain I want my implants out. I know that going completely flat is not for me but there has to be other options?

I'd be happy to go back to my petite tatas, but not sure how to do that or if that's even possible. I'm more than comfortable how my body looks after the BMX, but I'd like to still have a breast shape to fill out shirts.I've heard that the Diep flap is just as painful as the mastectomy was.

I can't think of a better place to ask for suggestions. Thank you!!

I had a UMX w/reconstruction almost 9 years ago and am wondering what to do as well. Tempted to go flat but like to fill out the shirt. Will be interested to hear responses.

What about using our own fat instead of an implant? I saw it on when I googled Allergan implants recall and it mentioned getting another implant or using your own fat.

Is that what the Diep flap is? I think that’s using your stomach fat/skin? But I agree, can they reconstruct with other fat like liposuction? There has to be another alternative.

shane - DIEP is microsurgical transplantation of skin, fat, blood vessels and is completely different from fat grafting to create a breast. Here is some info from this site, linked below. Because you already have a pocket created by implants I suppose it may be possible to place liposuctioned fat where the implant was, but because fat can reabsorb you could need repeated surgeries and might not be able to fill the space left by the implant. This would be a pretty specialized procedure and might be difficult to find someone locally to you who routinely performs this surgery.
