Hi I was wondering after finishing treatments and all, if it’s safe to swim in chlorinated pools?

    Hi Eigna,

I swam in chlorinated pools during all treatments, with pauses only after surgeries, and this with the blessing and encouragement of my oncologist. And I continued once I finished treatments. Swimming is a great sport. Are you concerned about the chlorine? Or about swimming more generally?

Thanks Laughing gull, I’m concerned about the chlorine. I don’t want to end up with a skin infection

Hi, Eigna and LaughingGull. New to this thread. I just had my first Herceptin/Taxol treatment on Thursday, but before my diagnosis I swam three times a week and I asked my MO about swimming during treatment and she said that would be fine. I can't go back into the pool until this Friday (two weeks after port insertion), but I'm going to stick to the current channel at my gym because I don't want to get my hair in the chlorine due to cool capping. I'm going to miss doing laps, but at least I can do some exercises in the water and I'm happy about that.
