hi ladies. I had lumpectomy and rads last year in the Left and my ultrasound last week showed a mass in the right. Radiologist said it looks like cancer and MO assuming it is too. Biopsy is Thursday. The recommendation is BMX.

I’m feeling strong and then the next moment I have tears. 11 months out from original dx. Also had a uterus scare a few months ago which thankfully was benign.

I’m strongly leaning towards flat asthetic closure. Have been reaching and at first thought the Goldilocks would be for me - but have read too many stories about necrosis and other issues.

It’s funny, you do everything right and in the end there’s nothing you can really do. It will either be back or not.

I'm so sorry you are going through this again. I was wondering if you had an MRI with your initial diagnosis. I had 2 masses in my left breast seen by the mammogram. It wasn't until I had a breast MRI, that they found 2 other very small masses in my right breast. Due to that, I had a BMX. Good luck to you.

thank you. Yes I did have have an MRI in Aug 2020 and 3 spots in the left showed up, nothing in the right. One was benign, the other the known cancer and the third was unable to be found. I was meant to have a 6 month MRI follow up but all my drs dropped the ball and did not mention that to me. Found that out last week when the radiologist asked why I didn’t have my follow up. He read the report from the other facility. Though the MRI was to follow the Left, it was bilateral and I can’t help think they would have seen the R mass months ago. Lesson - get copies of everything.

    Anyhow. Thank you.

Hi—I’m so sorry this is happening to you again. And so fast. Like the first time…this is the hardest part. It’s OK to shed some tears. It’s something no one wants to go through. Glad you found it when you did though!

Question for ya—did you have the oncotype done? I was just curious. You’re right about one thing—it WILL either be back or not. And that’s it. Hugs!!

Welcome Ladyc.... tho what a nightmare (again) for you!!! Glad your biopsy is Thursday so things are moving though waiting beyond that. Sounds like you're preparing yourself by considering your surgery options in advance... I am very happy with my aesthetic flat closure for what it's worth.... Please let us know how the biopsy goes, as well as when you hear about results....

    kathabus -

my MRI today came back clear! No mass found. I’m still trying to process and understand what just happened. They will do the ultrasound biopsy tomorrow but my dr said he doesn’t expect them to find anything. Last week the radiation looked me in the eye with that sad face - if you’ve seen it, you know - and said it looks like cancer. And the mri found nothing today? A lot of prayers have been said, and this seems impossible…

I got mammaprint instead of oncotype - was rated low ( in the mid to high low section.

livinLife - what a great name!

If you read above, I’m floored that today the MRI came back clear. Praise God.

    • fingers crossed tomorrow is the same. I find myself on a crazy rollercoaster. This is the second cancer scare of 2021 - uterus and breast.

I’d been calling for consults and was about to get my medical records sent on, when my RO called with the MRI results. I don’t have an explanation. But 🙏🏼🙏🏼

benign!!! So relieved. Stromal Fibrosis. Feels like another chance to ensure it doesn’t come back.
