I didn't expect perfection. But it seems that my left implant has moved around and I now have this horn sticking out. It feels like one of the corners of the implant is poking through my skin and when I lay down the horn becomes really big. Not dating now but can't see feeling comfortable about my body.

So hard because at one hand totally grateful that I am cancer free but my left breast is pretty deformed. I can only wear high cut shirts with a sports bra. I am currently trying to find a surgeon in the SF bay area who is good with revisions in the bay area for a second opinion.

What have other folks done with this situation? My implants were saline and I had a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction. I could use some advice. Thank you!

    Hi Ally,

Are you speaking about the SF Bay Area? Can you narrow your preferred location a bit more - Marin, East Bay, South Bay, Peninsula? Do you have insurance limitations? Have you been back to your original plastic surgeon to see if he/she could offer a revision?

I'll try to help if you can provide a bit more detail.

Thanks! SF or Stanford. I haver a PPO UHC City plan this year and I am trying to make an appt with my original guy for his opinion. Though, I don't know if I can expect a better outcome from the same doc.

    Ally,

Robert Foster is the chief of plastic surgery and director of breast reconstruction at Carol Franc Buck Breast Care Center at UCSF. If it were me, I would start there for a second opinion.

I'm not as familiar with Stanford but I can do some checking.

I've got a great surgeon in Oakland, if that's of any interest (she's even a bc survivor herself).

    Hello,

Dr. Nazerali at Stanford did my reconstruction. I've been pleased with the results. He did exchange and one round of fat grafting. We are monitoring for more. I had radiation too. PM if you want to chat more.

Also, my friend highly recommended Anne Peled in San Francisco. I don't have a personal experience with her though. I'd just go to several consultations and see with whom you "click".

I can recommend Dr. Gabriel Kind in San Francisco. He has told me along the way that he finds revisions especially rewarding. Very easy to talk with, and he has a great PA.
