Bone scan - increased uptake on vertebral

In my grandparents down I have 2 breast cancers, 3 prostate cancers, and ovarian cancer so I always worry about cancer. Last year I started getting odd symptoms. Pain and headaches is the majority of those issues. My C-reactive protein is currently at 21 and Sed rate at 60. A cat scan showed lesions on my spine which they thought was cancer. Then I had MRI and they don’t think cancer. And now my bone scan says “increased radiotracer uptake within T7 vertebral body posteriorly”. My primary doctor doesn’t seem concerned but truthfully he thought I was just depressed for months until I ordered my own inflammation tests at quest labs.

Has anyone had increased radiotracer uptake within the vertebral?

Thank you in advance :)

    Dear Kimber0813,

We are sorry that you didn't get a response to your question. It is possible that our members are not familiar with the terms that you post. Here is a link in our Not Diagnosed But Worried Forum that addresses common imaging concerns - thought they are mostly looking at breast imaging. Perhaps you can revisit your primary and ask for further explanation as to what the findings might mean. Unexplained symptoms followed by unexplained test results can surely create stress and worry regardless of whether or not they are at all related to a cancer diagnosis. It might be helpful for you to reach back to your treatment team to get to the bottom of your pain.

I do not know Kimber..... Good for you for advocating for yourself though! I've had to do that a lot as well with various things... docs do not always know. Docs also do not always know that they do not know.... Sounds like you are working with a doc other than your PCP? If you're not comfortable with their opinion you could get a second opinion based on those same images. Please let us know..... Sending support....

My mom recently had a bone scan with t11 that had increased reuptake and the impression was suspicious of osseous mets. My mom has a history for breast cancer 11 years ago.

We did a MRI which i painfully waited for the results for 3 days.

    It was atypical hemangioma.

I hope your results were also clarified. Praying for you!
