I had a routine annual mammo (6/14)with a call back for additional views. I had a tomo and US at callback.

Impression

BI-RADS Category 4: Suspicious.
Suspicious architectural distortion upper outer LEFT breast. Recommend BREAST SURGERY consultation and possible TOMOSYNTHESIS-GUIDED CORE NEEDLE BIOPSY.

Findings:

Spot compression tomography of the upper outer LEFT breast demonstrates focal architectural distortion in the mid to posterior LEFT upper outer breast, best seen on MLO slice 21/85.

Directed ultrasound of the upper outer LEFT breast demonstrates a benign-appearing 10 x 5 x 8 mm lymph node in the 2:00 radian, 9 cm from the nipple. No other masses or architectural distortion identified.

I went today for specialist visit and biopsy. When I got there I had a fever of 100.1 and they would not see me. I was only so nervous breathing through that mask, it was humid and I had broken out in hives on my upper chest from nerves. Got home, temp 98.4! I have to wait til 7/7 to go back. I'm soo upset!

I'm seeing such differing info on the Architectural distortion. How concerning is it? Why the mention of the lymph node? Is it tied in with the Architectural distortion? Is the lymph node large?

The radiologist only described it as a star shaped area and may be cancer.

They seemed to want to get me in so quick, but now I have no choice but wait........
