Can a Spiculated mass BI-RADS 5 be a Fibroadenoma?

Ah, sorry to hear that.
It sounds like your cancer might be a combination of IDC, invasive ductal carcinoma, and ILC, invasive lobular carcinoma. Quite a few people on this site have these two cancer subtypes together.
The key information you should get from the biopsy report is hormone status - ER, PR, and HER2 - and grade.
I and others been answering questions from someone else who is newly diagnosed and has not yet received the full biopsy report, and you might find the information helpful as you prepare for your appointment with the BS:

I'm sorry to hear about the diagnosis. I recall a decade or two ago there was no protocol for comparing the path reports with the imaging findings and I'm sure cases like yours slipped through the cracks back then. As frustrating as it has been, in this situation the system worked to continue until a concordant diagnosis was made.

I’m extremely thankful that we were able to keep exploring until we were satisfied with the result. Now, on to the solution

I also have mixed lobular and ductal. Once you have surgery, and if you are HER2- and ER+, you will probably have an Oncotype test that will determine chemo or not. Many of us do anti-estrogen meds and don't do chemo.
If you have lobular, which is harder to see on mammograms, you might definitely want a double mastectomy. You can do both at once or one at a time (I did the latter). Have a regional block to avoid pain meds if you can!
Good luck!

I don’t mean ANY disrespect to anyone here, but I have a weird feeling. They’re saying I most-likely won’t need chemo. This is making me feel almost like I have cancer “lite”. I feel like I got a pass that a lot of people don’t get to have. I’m almost feeling guilty. Is this common? I know chemo isn’t nearly as common as it used to be, but it’s kind of hard to get passed this

Sick with worry
Mammogram Findings
The following mammographic views were obtained: bilateral
digital craniocaudal with tomosynthesis; bilateral digital
mediolateral oblique with tomosynthesis.
There are scattered areas of fibroglandular density.
Finding 1: Previous screening shows a post-reduction
mammoplasty scarring. On the present examination, there is a
post-reduction mammoplasty scarring in the left breast.
Finding 2: There is an equal density, irregular mass measuring
8 millimeters with spiculated margins seen in the middle third
of the left breast lower inner quadrant at 8 o'clock located 7
centimeters from the nipple.
In the right breast, no masses, suspicious microcalcifications
or architectural distortion are evident.
Impression
BI-RADS Assessment Category 0:
Needs additional imaging evaluation.
Finding 1: Post-reduction mammoplasty scarring in the left
breast is benign.
Finding 2: Mass in the left breast requires additional
evaluation. Recommend spot compression views, lateromedial view,
and a possible ultrasound.

This is an old thread from two years ago, so you might want to start a new one and maybe include a question so people know what information you're seeking. Good luck.

I havehad like 6 surgeries on the left breast . Past few years all reports just mention stable surgery scarring . Now this .

I have had like 6 surgeries on this breast . All pass reports for the last few years have constantly mentioned stable surgical scarring noted. Now this ! please share your thoughts.

My knowledge of much of what is in the report is just too limited... I will say that BIRADS 0 really means they cannot determine anything one way or another - they flat out just need more images.... I hear your exasperation with one thing after another.... I felt the same with with my right breast... call back after call back though "only" 2 stereotactic biopsies on that breast. Hopefully you're able to get in for the additional images soon so you get some answers before long....
