Hormone therapy during chemo

Hello. Searching for any other ER+ patients who are taking anastrozole during chemo therapy. I'be been assured the 2 do not interfere with each other but cannot find any recent studies. Would love to hear experience of others.

Undergoing treatment for invasive lobular carcinoma, stage 2B, grade 3,3/5 positive nodes

    Hi!

    Most of us who do chemo will start doing hormonal therapy after it's finished. By starting hormonal therapy after chemo, you can figure out what side-effects are due to chemo and which are due to hormonal therapy. Also, doing both at the same time can be tough on your body.

    I did neoadjuvent hormone therapy and stopped taking it the day before surgery. Once it became clear that I would need chemo, my MO told me not to restart until after chemo was done. She said there was no clear evidence one way or the other but her opinion was that the two treatments would fight each other.

    Thank you for the reply. Haven’t been able to find recent studies on combined treatment so have a call scheduled with dr.

    what I have heard from researches is that they don’t recommend endocrine therapy during chemo or radiation b/c the endocrine therapy can reduce the effectiveness of the chemo or radiation
