8 years living with Mbc
hi everyone
I wanted to post today-I lurk more then I post but I realized it was 8 years ago today I found out I had mbc. I was 43 with no family history and had never even heard of mbc so to say it was life altering is an understatement. I was diagnosed de nova with inumerable bone mets. I thought life as I knew it was over and in a way it was I went through what I can only describe as a grieving process for what I thought might life would be and what my reality was. I’m very lucky to have had a fairly easy time (physically) but in the past year a lot has changed-progressions and new meds but I’m still here and still living my life the best I can. The last 8 years have brought a lot of happiness and of course sadness but I’m thankful for every one of these years. I have no idea what the future holds but I know now there is more then just my cancer and I’m more then my cancer. To everyone I hope today is a good one.

Partyof5, congratulations on 8 years and going! I had similar experiences along the way with diagnosis and then the unknown, the rollercoaster of it all. It sounds like you have learned to cope with the downside while continuing to live as fully as possible and had a lot of good times along the way. So happy for you!

Congratulations on 8 years, and wishes for many, many more good ones!

Thank you so much. I’ve learned to deal with the ups and downs I give myself a day or two to rant and cry when I get bad news but then try and get on with life. I have 5 children and a beautiful 6 year old granddaughter 6 dogs and 4 horses that help keep my mentally and physically busy. Our family motto is “Suck it up buttercup” and I got a shirt for Mother’s Day with it on it and wear it on the days I need to suck it up! My kids don’t let me wallow for very long!Kristin

Only eight more? Ladies let’s not undersell ourselves. Though the odds aren’t necessarily in our favor, let’s aim high! Coming up on 10 years myself in exactly one month

Congratulations Partyoffive! Eight years is so good, 24 sounds better. We share the same cancerversary, but I only have one year under my belt. I'm looking forward to more, so keep setting a good example!
