Janet,
Although facilities may handle things somewhat differently, I have never heard of a separate report that detailed just the biopsy and marker insertion. If there was anything exceptional about the biopsy itself and marker placement, not the actual biopsy results, you likely would have already been informed of that. BTW, it is unlikely that there was a problem with the biopsy itself as most go very smoothly. The biopsy results will be what is important.
Whether you look at your patient portal now or later is up to you. It won't change the results either way. Some folks feel more comfortable looking at results immediately while others are more comfortable reviewing it with their doctors. And remember, you actually don't know what has been posted to your patient portal!I am very pragmatic and have always looked at test results as soon as they are posted. I am not any less scared or anxious than anyone else but for me, having factual information, whether it's good or not, actually makes me less anxious that speculating or imagining things that might not even come to pass. Breast cancer has been a serious fact of life for me and I have always try to deal with it from a position of strength. I am not always successful but the more I deal with it the stronger I've become even in a crummy situation. Take care

Hi Janet - after each of my biopsies, an After Visit Summary (“AVS") was a posted in my patient portal which summarized the procedure and after care instructions. Hope this helps.

Good thinking Harley! My biopsies were almost 10 years ago though I don’t remember if such info was on my patient portal. Not even sure I had a patient portal 10 years ago

Janet, I doubt the lab has even finished testing. In my patient portal an "after-visit summary" appears soon after every encounter. It has vital signs and other boring stuff. Other times I will get a message saying I have a "new test result" and that is where a scan result will appear, but this takes three days. Of course, by then I have already had a quick message from my onc about it because she is very considerate about scanxiety.

Thanks for all replies, it was about the procedure of the biopsy and clip placement in details. Still hoping and praying for good result.
