Confusion with my diagnosis after 15 months !!!

I just presumed I was ILC after reading Lobular on my Pathology report...so just by chance someone who was recently diagnosed wanted to see my pathology report so I dug it out and took a picture and posted it.....I’m Triple + my tumour was 3.2cm and the top line said it was Lobular..after reading it properly ,like 15months later it said ...Lobular Carcinoma In Situ...My Treatment was DMX first and they found DCIS 1.5cm in my “good breast” that was Hormone + only, no Lymph nodes were positive or no LVI...had TCH x6 and Herceptin x11 finished that in march...on Anastrozole since June 2020....My question is what is the recurrence for LCIS and DCIS compared to others like ILC and IDC...I am Her2+ to add in the mix

If you did chemo and herceiptin, it was either ILC or IDC with LCIS present. They don't do chemo for in situ.

for example, I have IDC but DCIS is mentioned on every pathology report.

OK so it can be LCIS and ILC at the same time ...just confused when they mentioned it was LCIS

Yes, it can be a combination of ILC and LCIS.

Redcanoe is absolutely correct - chemo is never given for DCIS or LCIS. Nor is Herceptin is not even approved for these conditions.

Can you copy out here exactly what the pathology report says, word for word? Even a single word can change the whole interpretation.

When they did my lumpectomy for ILC they also found LCIS. I think that is pretty common. However, now that I know I have it I think that I have a greater risk of ILC in my remaining breast. I'm so glad I'm old.

    Hi,

I had ILC/LCIS and DCIS all in the same 9mm tumor.
