Sensations/pain in pelvic area
Feeling worried about weird sensations I’ve been having in my pelvic region, not sure if it’s bone pain or what? I recently had bloodwork done and everything was within normal range. I’m wondering, would signs of bone metastasis show on bloodwork before you would have severe symptoms. Should I feel reassured that my bloodwork was good? For reference, I’m 2 years out from chemo/double mastectomy for Stage 2 triple negative BC. Another piece of info: I’m 4 months post partum and so this could be related to that but of course my mind jumps to it being cancer. Anyone know if the pelvic bones are a common place for TNBC to reoccur?? Thanks in advance!!

My google search doesn't say that TNBC is very prone to going to the pelvic region. I would say yes it is good to have normal bloodwork. I would think what is happening would be more likely to be related to being post partum. There is something called: Post-partum pelvic girdle pain -- maybe check into that and see if that sounds like what you are experiencing.

I really don't know Kirby - just want to send support.... What does your doc say about this, including onc of course?

according to webmd, it could be up to 8 months postpartum. Wishing you the best.

You can’t count on bloodwork. My friend, also triple negative, had bone mets after six years. We go to the same treatment center and when a PET scan diagnosed her with Mets, I asked her the same question about bloodwork and her bloodwork perfect.

I appreciate The support
I haven’t talked to my docs yet. When I saw my doc a few weeks ago I thought it was related to my cycle but it kept happening afterwards to -
yea I definitely understand about the bloodwork. Just wondered how long it would take to show up in bloodwork, or if it would be more likely to have a symptom first. I’m sorry about your friend!

thanks for the info- I sure hope it’s related to postpartum and maybe a little physical therapy might help:)

Kirby,
The only time a bone metastasis would show in blood work would be after a significant length of time. The body has a sophisticated mechanism to keep the electrolytes stable and the bone is healthy. You would most likely experience significant pain &/or a fracture before the bloodwork became a problem.
