yes it does. The weight of even a short hair made my scalp really sore and tender. Once it was buzzed off I massaged my scalp with a little bit of a clarifying shampoo to help keep the follicles open. Also used argon oil a couple times a week too

Its a tough time. Sorry you are going through this.

Thanks I’ll try those things. With all the money I’ll save on shampoo this year I can probably afford the argon oil

Had not heard about the Argon oil tip before. Thanks.

So just an update, a friend came with his beard trimmer and shaved my hair down to stubble. I felt so much better! Until I laid my head on the pillow that night and thousands of tiny needles attacked me. So the next day I decided the stubble had to go. Went to CVS and got the only hair removal cream they had, confirmed with pharmacist that it was safe to use on scalp. Got home and tried it, no results. Zero. Guess it was just for facial peach fuzz. So I went to Great Clips to take advantage of their offer to shave the head of chemo patients for free. Turns out they can't use razors there so just shortened my stubble. Finally found another friend willing to shave my head down to the skin. Did that followed by witch hazel for aftershave, then applied argon oil. Finally relief!

glad you have that dreaded step behind you. Its surprising how much heat you loose from your head. I wore a couple sleep caps at night. Granted I had them on and off a couple times during the night because I was hot then cold. The cap helped the prickly stubble a little bit.

Be sure not to use a razor to shave your legs either. Its not worth risking a cut that could get infected. I liked the argon oil. Its not greasy and won't block your hair follicles. Its light. You will find many suggestions here that help. Once chemo was done and okd by my oncologist I alternated biotin with a hair skin and nails vitamin. To be honest I still do 3 years later. The pill I take now can thin your hair so just trying to stay a head of the game. So far so good. Again, really glad this part is behind you. Onward!

Thanks for those suggestions. I also forgot to note that my PT suggested coconut oil and a washcloth to remove stubborn skin glue
