Waiting on results
It's been 4 years since my original diagnosis. Screening MRI picked up something they didn't like, and I had an ultrasound guided biopsy yesterday. I have a results appointment with my surgeon on Friday.
Trying to hold it together, but once I found out that the area/lesion/lump/whatever was at the old surgical site, I really started to get worried. I have pretty bad anxiety anyway, so this is definitely not helping. The radiologist explained what they were concerned about, but it was over my head. Something about the direction (?circle) something focal was going. I don't know. Mammogram in October picked nothing up. I do exams, but it always feels lumpy around the old scar so I never know what I'm feeling.

gb, I hope this turns out to be a false alarm, something like scar tissue or fat necrosis perhaps.
In the meantime, I'm here holding your hand.
-
Thank you Beesie. I feel like this biopsy hurts more than last time, but it was right through the scar area which has always been pretty sore to begin with.
-
Count me in the “waiting with you holding your hand”list. Sending good thoughts.
-
Sorry all this is going on for you gb! I think recurrence worries is one of the worst things.... Sending support and gentle hugs!
-
GB hoping your results are benign. Sorry you are going through the waiting again. Prayers for you.
-
Sending good thoughts. The waiting never gets easier.
-
Sending good vibes for benign result from someone who has been there. Biopsy Jan. 2020 barely 3 yrs from diagnosis. Fat necrosis. Still have 1- 6 month mri follow up to go. So hoping to get back on an annual schedule. The testing, waiting, is stressful.
-
I hope mine is fat necrosis. My appointment is in an hour. I'm at work trying to eat lunch, and my poor appetite is making me nauseated.

Well, yeah, so it's another cancer. Oddly right in the same spot but with different features, so it's a new primary.
SIGH
-
Ugh gb2115! That sucks! What do you mean, different features? ((Hugs))
-
The receptor percentages and growth rate were all very different.
-
Crap. I'm sorry.
Hoping that's it's a small tumor with a favorable pathology.
-
I'm not sure of the size, I feel like it was around a cm, maybe. 75% ER, ~60% PR, no her2. Slower growing than the other one was. No repeat radiation, so a mastectomy. Being sent for CT and bone scan though because I have some other symptoms going on. Just to make sure.
-
ugh I’m sorry - I hope you can get in and get the scans done ASAP and that you get clean resilrs
-
So sorry to hear that GB. That just stinks. Glad they are looking under the hood and hope your scans come back clean.
-
Sorry to hear this gb!
