Nordstrom Breast Prosthesis Bra Program ?

Nordstrom is an expensive store and wondering how their mastectomy bra program is?

How do they accept insurance? Do they accept? Or did you have to pay up front?

Did the fitter take her time with you? Did she help you find the most appropriate fitting mastectomy bra?

    HI Christine,

    My experience with Nordstrom was very good. The fitters measured me before my mastectomy. I bought a post surgery camisole with pockets for the drains. I did have to pay first but they submitted the forms electronically to Medicare. When I went back to pick out a prosthesis they showed me several choices beginning with the cheapest one. They explained how much Medicare would cover. My policy included 4 bras and they brought out about 8 for me to consider. Only one had a pocket for the prosthesis. For the others, their seamstress sewed in pockets. Medicare reimbursed me promptly.

    The fitters were very professional and sensitive to my privacy.

    I too have Medicare and I also have a secondary insurance.

    It was nice of them to discuss what the coverage would be.. You don't want sticker shock.

    Very impressed that if you don't find a pocket bra for inserts that they will sew them into a regular bra. Seems they go the extra mile for you.

    I was using Liberator for years, I don't like to go to a store to shop,I am as private as possible . I looked for another business that will work and do the claims with Medicare and my Insurance, it is called:Carol's Personal Mastectomy Shoppe.

    They process Medicare and private insurance, in my case 80% Medicare covers and 20% my insurance for bras ,prosthesis.

    You can look a bra somewhere else and they can get it for you.
