Montgomery Gland pain
hi all! Not sure if I’m posting this in the right place since I don’t know if this is exactly BC related. In October, before I ovulated my breasts got a little tender as usual. Both Nipples got super sore. Never experienced this pain before That I can remember. I realized it was my Montgomery glands on the Areola causing pain when I touched them. After ovulation the pain went away completely in both. When my period came around, again with the pain. This time my right nipple (BC Breast) stayed painful. These darn tiny bumps hurt to touch! And when I get really cold, ouch! The Nipple itself looks normal and doesn’t hurt. Not inverted. As far as I can tell they are not individually swollen or pus filled. My areola is a bit puffy and pink though.
Anyone experience this? I have a call out to the doctor, but just curious if anyone has had something similar. Ugh surgery can not come soon enough!! 11 days to go.

hey there Taralynn!
I don’t know if I’m much help as I am new to these boards and currently awaiting a biopsy result for a lump found during my very first screening mammogram. I wanted to reply to you because I have the same issues going on as you. I have fibrocystic breasts so they are painful all month not just around my period, although they are more so during that time. BUT on my right breast which came back normal through all of this I have those Montgomery glands. And I’ve never had them before or at least I didn’t notice them before. They are bigger on my right than my left and they hurt when I am extra sensitive or when my nipple gets cold or stimulated somehow. I asked my OB about them and he was not concerned said everybody gets them although they are more common when pregnant or nursing. My daughter is 13 and I am not pregnant so not sure why they came up all of a sudden lol. He said due to my age (39) that perhaps it’s hormone related. In my other breast, the left one I have this weird puffiness where my areola is almost lighter pink in one area. When I brought it up to my OB as well he did not even notice when I tried to show him. My fiancé thinks it’s because a vein runs through there so it makes it appear a different color and puffy?? In sole lighting you can’t even see it. I don’t know. All I know is the lump they found in that breast is on the other side of my breast and there was nothing concerning otherwise on either breast. So I am just over here awaiting a call with my biopsy results, a hot mess of emotions praying and hoping for benign results so I can move on and continue wedding plaything as we are getting married in a couple months (I hope!)
I hope you find out what’s going on and update this thread so I can get some info as well.
