Enlarged spleen after TNBC
I had triple negative stage 2 grade 3 IDC Diagnosed dec 2019. Did chemo surgery and radiation. Cancer free on august 3 2020. Dec 1 2020 I started Xeloda 2000 mg a day for a year. This is to hopefully keep the cancer from coming back. Well today I was at the chiropractor and they saw on X-ray that my spleen was enlarged. I haven't been sick and it doesn't hurt. Although I do have back pain in that area but I always have back pain. Anyways they told me to get it looked at soon. So I called my pharmacist that I talk to about xeloda and asked her if it could be from that. She said no and told me to send the pics of X-rays to my oncologist. Waiting to hear back from him. I know I shouldn't but my mind and research goes to metastasis. Possibly liver Mets? I just need to talk with people who understand the worry. Have you had an enlarged spleen? What was the cause? I’d like to hear even if it turned out to be cancer. I know I’m jumping the gun but I’m trying to mentally prepare.

thank you, I hope to hear from him tomorrow. My blood work was good a few weeks ago but I don’t know if they will run more or not

Hi hray1993, I have similar issues. Before I was diagnosed with BC I had an ER visit and a CT showed fluid around my spleen. During chemo, I found out I had gallstones. Now I’m having pain in my upper abdomen just under my ribs and pain in the center of my back. My liver levels, amylase and lipase tests came back in the normal range but I have low mean platelet volume. I’m seeing a doctor but don’t have a definitive diagnosis yet for the pain and nausea.
Have you had the covid vaccine recently? I’m suspecting that the vaccine has temporarily enlarged my spleen due to my prior issues. I’m hoping that things will resolve on their own in a few weeks

cyathea, I’m sorry you’re having issues as well! I hope you get answers soon. No I haven’t had the covid vaccine and I haven’t had covid either. Hopefully your issues resolve soon

still haven’t heard back from my oncologist. I’m going stir crazy waiting on that phone call
