Anyone having or had surgery at Brigham & Women's in Boston?

I had surgery consult with Dr. Troyan last week and I have plastic surgeon consult with Dr. Halvorson in about 2 weeks. BMX with immediate DIEP reconstruction scheduled for end of August. Anyone willing to share experiences with this hospital and/or doctor said? TIA,

    Hi. I have no experience there. My surgery was at Mass General. I just wanted to say hi from one CT girl to another. I hope your consults get you the info you are looking for.

    Dr. Troyan has a great reputation in the Boston area. I have several friends who have used her, and all of them sing her praises. I had my surgery at the Beth Israel so can't comment from person experience.

    Are you having surgery at B&W in town or B &W at Faulkner?Troyan is one of the best, I hear.

    I am actually not sure. Will ask at plastic surgeon consult on July 17. Do you recommend one location or the other?

    I had a great experience at Faulkner, which is very small and was formerly Dr. Susan Love's cancer center. My surgeon works at Dana Farber and Faulkner. Of course B & W is a wonderful hospital- had my first child there and lots of medical care- so you are fine at either place and in good hands.

    Hi from a fellow Boston resident. I see that this is an old thread, but I am having a DIEP flap with Dr. Erdmann-Sager at BWH next month and thought I'd post to check in with others who had this surgery at BWH. Thanks!
