Lymphedema, chills, high grade fever ,neck lymph nodes
Hi, i was diagnosed with stage 3 tnbc as you all can see from my info section.Past month was not good for me, I had cough,Fatigue, body pain. Now, 2-3 days back i got releif from all of these symptoms. Due to covid-19 i am not able to get appointment to my onco, i am trying again and again. But fortunately i am following my primary care, i got releif from almost all symptoms except my lymphocytes were increased during last blood work, also there were some increased lymph nodes in my neck largest one is being 13.5mm X 7 mm. But that is not the problem, today in the morning when i woke up, i had excruciating pain in my left arm (Same side as ca and lymphedema). I had never such kind of pain in the same hand, even my lymphedema is getting worse, my fever is running high as high as105°F.My left side body is paining as hell. I went to emergency they didn't do any test, they just said try to get appointment of your onco. I am not able to understand why my left arm has so much pain, even mobility is affected, i have lymphedema from starting but never had this kind of pain.

Fever = infection or illness of some sort. Have you been tested for Covid? fever that high is dangerous so I hope they took you seriously at the ED. Have you had the covid vaccine? I had my first one on Saturday and talk about pain (but no fever or chills) and swelling.
Aches and pains are very common with high fevers so I think you need to determine what is causing the fevers (diverticulitis? dental abscess? sinus infection??). Lymphedema can vary and if your body is trying to flush out and deal with an illness (lymph glands), it could be added stress to them.
I hope someone better versed can address this; that's my take on it.

Is your arm red, swollen, or hard? Cellulitis is an infection in the deep layers of the skin and is especially problematic for lymphedema sufferers. Please contact your PCP for an evaluation. I hope you feel better soon.

wally and hershey asked good questions! is your onc available by telehealth? otherwise can your primary care offer any other suggestions for evaluation? Something should be happening to further evaluate what's happening.... if that doesn't happen maybe go back to the ER - risk they will turn you away again - if you return there maybe be insistent on something needs to happen there bc no-one else is following up -...??? Feeling for you and hoping you get some answers soon....

I am worried that you either have an infection or a blood clot. I had BOTH of these things and had symptoms like you describe. In either case you need to be treated at the hospital, and they need to check you for signs of infection (like cellulitis) and blood clots. Please get help soon, best of luck and prayers to you.

But keep calling your oncologist too - maybe he/she can help you faster!

Thnq, all Ladies for coming in, Finally I got an appointment to my onco (next week).
-
But IF this is cellulitis or a blood clot, it is not safe to wait that long, is it?
-
sid, it sounds like you should REALLY be going to an urgent care ASAP. Something is definitely not right and it needs to be addressed immediately.

I went to ED, they prescribed to elevate arm and asked to wait and continue with onco, They said there is nothing they can do for this, Meanwhile i got a call from onco, they said to report in ED ASAP if have symptoms like high grade fever, Seizures, headache or speech disability.
Currently i have no fever, little bit of fatigue is there. But now i have started speaking strange things while sleeping, my son told me,It is quite funny.
Thnq all for your concern.

Thank you for updating us - I just hope you can get some help soon!
