Eyelid involvement

I’m curious if anyone here has had ILC that spread to their inside eyelid. This is not what I’m saying I have, I just want to know if it’s possible and if anyone here has had it happen and how you found out. I have an eye appointment next week for a bump I’ve had for two months inside my right bottom eyelid. I had no pain until last week when I noticed it starting to form another lump on the top of my bottom lid. I’m hoping it’s a simple issue that can be cleared with eye drops or an antibiotic. My cancer has been so tough to figure out, I wouldn’t put it past it to spread to another stupid place no one would think of.

    I'm sorry you are going through this. I have never heard of it in eyelids. I have small lumps and bumps that come and go near my eyelids. I have allergies which often antagonize my skin area. I've had styes that develop under my eyelid (top), small "whiteheads" on the lower eye-lid rim, and my neighbor had a horrible Chalazion that she finally had to have drained.

    Thank you , Wallycat. I am thinking the inside bump is a chalazion. They say they’re supposed to clear on their own. Since it’s been two months, I guess I better get it checked. I appreciate you responding.

    Happy to offer any comfort I can. I know the stress only too well; going through something myself at the moment.

    Sometimes those chalazions hang on and just sit there and don't get bigger; my neighbor's was so big, she was having problems seeing so they finally had to drain it. I'm learning what the body should be doing and what it actually does are worlds apart for some us, LOL. Good luck!

    Hi! I thought I would come back and let you know I went to the eye doc. She said it was what I thought, a chalazion. She said it wasn’t going to go away on its own, so she could do surgery right then and there. Holy cow. No time to think about it. I’ve had a bone marrow biopsy and a bone biopsy, and I don’t think I was in this much pain. I look like I got punched in the eye. She had to take three glands as well.

    She said it definitely didn’t look like cancer, but because of my situation, she would send it for a biopsy to be certain. That made me feel better.

    I hope your eyelid is healing quickly! I've had lower eyelid issues on and off for over a year now. Basically, the eye dr said it is a clogged duct.

    I used prescription eyedrops that worked wonderfully, but it is not something that can be used long term. Warm compresses several times a day do help. I first tried warming a damp washcloth in the microwave and then folding and using, but then found an eye mask type thing (on Amazon) that can also be warmed in micro and used easily. In both cases, it is important to not use too hot! It does help a lot, and I can go. months without any problems, but then an occasional flare up.

    Having your eyelid bump removed may be the best solution though, - you probably wont have a recurring issue, as I do!

    AnotherNYCgirl, thank you for the info. She did tell me that since it’s happened, the chances of it happening again are high. I do know now to try the compress as soon as something starts, and hopefully that will take care of it.

    She also told me to wash my eyelids with half baby shampoo and half water on a regular basis or use Ocusoft lid scrub foam.

    KBL,

    If you have Ocusoft products in your home that you have kept & might be using, please throw them out. There was a recall at the end of 2019 due to problems of sterility. If you have any old product, don't use them. The product that is on the shelf now is fine to use as well as any purchased in 2020. However, once you are done, throw it away & purchase new product for each time you might need it.

    Wow, Jhl, thank you for that info. I’ve never bought it before, but it makes me pause when thinking about buying it. I will research that recall before I do buy it, if I do. Much appreciated.

    Just as I was reading this topic over the last 2 weeks, guess what I got? A stye. It was right at the bottom of my eye lid at my lashes--what's left of them. I do not wear contacts or make up. Now that seems to have resolved, but now have a chalazia further up on my eye lid. This one doesn't hurt, it's sort of affecting my sight. Never had one of these before, but can be caused by a stye. It's been several years since I've had any eye infections or what have you. I had one on the other eye, and there is a small red spot (I guess is permanent), so I'm assuming I'll have a mark left from this one when it goes down?

    I would have liked to have gone the rest of my life never knowing what "chalazia" is, but thanks to all of you, I was introduced to this and know if/when I should call a Dr. Another one!

    ctmbsikia, I’m so sorry you’re having this issue. Just so you know, I did nothing for mine, and it didn’t clear up onits own, which they can. Please read up on what you can do for it. The one thing I wish I would have done is used a warm compress a few times a day. My eye doc recommended something that looks like a night mask, but you put it in the microwave, and it stays warmer than a washcloth put in the microwave. I’m going to be getting one to have on hand. I hope you can get it to clear on its own. Please come back and let us know if it goes away.

    Wonderful news KBL!!!!

    My eye is getting better these last 2 days. Using the warm compresses. Finally came down but still have some drainage at night. Next time I'm at the store I will pick up a baby shampoo with all the pollen and junk in the air right now, I will take better care. Thankfully no medical assistance was required! I was starting to get a bit discouraged as it just took longer to start resolving then what they say "a few days" More like over 2 weeks for me.

    I’m so glad the compresses are working. I’ve learned my lesson the hard way. I will definitely start with the compress immediately if one shows up. That’s really great, and now I have proof it works. I’m glad you kept at it. I might have quit if it didn’t help. Now I know not to.
