Saying hi
Hi all, I’ve been lurking for about a week but am ready to say hi and join the community. I have a biopsy scheduled for Wednesday after finding micro calcifications at my dx mammogram (findings below). I’m hopeful for benign but expecting otherwise.
Incremental diagnostic views confirm a segmental distribution of similar-morphology pleomorphic microcalcifications in the upper outer left breast, spanning 4.3 cm AP x 3.0 cm T x 3.2 cm CC. These begin ~1.3 cm from the base of the nipple and extend posteriorly.
No additional suspicious findings seen.
IMPRESSION:
IMPRESSIONS:
LEFT BREAST: BI-RADS 4; SUSPICIOUS
1. A 4.3 x 3.0 x 3.2 cm segmental distribution of pleomorphic microcalcifications in the upper outer quadrant is suspicious for malignancy. Tissue diagnosis should be obtained unless clinically contraindicated. Tomosynthesis guided representative sampling should be obtained.

Hi Stella, good luck with your biopsy. Mine is nine days after yours, so I understand the stress of waiting. Keep us posted

-

Fiveoclock, good luck with yours too. The waiting is so hard.

Hello again! My stereotactic core needle biopsy is done. Now the wait for results.
The biopsy wasn’t bad. I felt faint at one point but that’s usual for me and the nurses and doctors took good care of me.
Thanks for all your support

Waiting is the worst. Hope you get quick and benign results
-
Thanks for the update Stella! Glad things went well overall.... Please keep us posted. I'm sure you've seen many posts by this time on ideas to help during the difficult waiting.....
-
I got the results. I have DCIS 4cm. That's all I know for now.
Update: grade
-
Hi StellaNorth - sorry to hear about your DCIS. It's a precancerous condition, stage 0. Hang in there - once you get treatment plan in place, everything will feel less overwhelming
-
Thank you, moth.
-
Best to you Stella! I initially had a 5-6 cm area - surgery path showed much smaller DCIS area and lots of other junk in the other area - mix of precancerous and benign. Hope you get fairly clean results...including low Grade and no necrosis....
-
Thank you Livinlife!
-
Sorry to hear. Sending some hugs
